UN and Sudan poll
Will the UN actually do anything about Sudan's blatant and repeated attempts at genocide or will it just vote and shuffle papers until Sudan runs out of people to kill?

The last time there was a serious effort to stop the genocide, the Republicans in Congress said it was all a vast conspiracy to distract the public from Monica Lewinsky

It's a sprawling bureacy that won't get it done until it's too late.

They should get rid of the veto-rights. And you know what. Sudan is a member of the UN comission of human rights. I was pretty pissed when they chose Sudan in the comission. I think their idea was that if Sudan is part of it, maybe it would get it's cat together. Well they sure did.

The U.N. has become completely ineffective...it seems to me it will soon go the way of the League of Nations.
Oh, they may at some point decide to provide "humanitarian" aid, but when it comes to actually stopping the genocide, they haven't got a prayer of getting people to cooperate long enough to actually DO something...both for corruption reasons and general inefficiency.

I'm sorry to say but the current UN sux - we have to work *together* in order to improve our world, and right now it's degraded itself to just issuing resolutions.
THE UN HAS TO FOLLOW THROUGH!!! I know troop commitment is costly, but we're all gonna need to help them
