Kerry's war record Why do people attack it?

Why has Bush administration made claims about Kerrys war record (although denies everything) when Bush sat in America as a National Guard while Kerry was in a war-torn Vietnam? No matter what his record is, its gotta bee better than Bush's.

Because Kerry purposely chose to make his Vietnam service the focal point of his campaign. He has said virtually nothing regarding his 20 years as a senator. I wonder why?

Bush did not do the same regarding his Air National Guard service.

Also, both Bush and Cheney have praised Kerry's service as honorable. Neither has "attacked" it, so your premise is not valid.

Whenever someone holds themselves up as a "hero" it is human nature to take a close look at their claims. Kerry came right out and brought the Vietnam stuff up, making it a focal point. He was advised not to do so, but he did it anyway. He upset a LOT of veterans when he came back from Vietnam and testified before Congress. The fact that he was actually surprised that anyone would be upset about this shows that he is really out of touch with the rest of America.

Neither Bush or Cheney (who I really dislike) have attacked Kerry's service. The attacks have come from veterans.

It's also easier than defending Bush's presidential record.

You can blame Bush for saying things he did not say, you can blame Republican mouth pieces for saying things for Bush, but here are some untidy little facts that have nothing to do with anyone BUT Kerry.

He declared war atrocities were committed adhock by US soldiers in Vietnam.

One of the main people cited for making such claims to Kerry now has come forward and said Kerry made him say it, and that he didn't want to, but was told he had to.

Kerry met with the VietCong in Paris while the war was still going on.

One of Kerry's primary partners in the Winter Soldier campaign has lived on and off in Vietnam since the war ended, prior to normalized relations. Including the last 6 years.

Kerry is one of the main focus points of a war memorial in Vietnam for people that supported the North during the war. If this alone isn't indirect admission of guilt, then don't waste your time debating, just blindly go vote for Kerry, as he could cut your mothers head off at this point and you would still vote for the guy.

He refuses to sign form 1080 releasing all of his military and any of his medical records from his time in service. Bush has released all that are known to exist. Before you criticize Bush for not "Comming clean", note that unless he sends in the CIA to try and find more documentation, everything known to exist is already out there.

Kerry has been proven a liar on several assertions and claims he has made over the years, including: Spending Christmas in Cambodia, how he won the silver star (this weeks document discovered refutes his prior claims), how he won two of his purple hearts, who fled the scene of the Rathmussen incident, why he purchased an 8mm camara and reinacted battle scenes including those he never participated in and claimed to have been present in. Virtually everything in his book "The New Soldier".

Kerry claimed for many years to have thrown his medals over the fence in protest, then they were somebody elses medals, then they were ribbons not medals, then ribbons and medals were the same thing, then he had one set of medals hanging in his Senate office, and a duplicate set of medals hanging in his state office, with yet another set hanging in his home office: I would not be surprised if he then has not gone around telling people he won 9 purple hearts.

Kerry spent a total of 5 weeks out at sea, never touching land in his first tour of duty, but touts that as though he were a tunnel rat in the Mekong Delta for a year. He was actually on a friggatt bored out of his freakin gord.

He has doctored and probably more likely fake military records on his website, claiming his silver star came with a Combat "V", when any retard who has ever worn a military uniform knows that the Silver Star does not come with a Combat "V", as the award itself is for combat service, rather redundant. No military admin personel would make such an error, it is simply a fraud.

Kerry refuses to appologize for the thousands of comments he has made over the years degrading the military service, personel and missions of the military for the past 30 years, yet now he seeks to lead the same group and personel? This while you have a problem with Cheney and Haliburton? It would be liken to putting Haliburton in place of the CIA, FBI and all of Congress, with the CEO of Haliburton as the President of the United States and claiming there was nothing wrong with it.

That's the tip of the iceburg, but you get my point...

The fact Kerry volunteered to go to that God forsaken war in a country they shouldn't have been in is enough for me. I would have said "To hell with the US" (when the draft was on) and headed to Canada. What he did took courage.

Because politics in USA is split in only two parties. Therefore the only thing to do is praise yourself and drag the other through as much dirt as you can.
For some reason the politics of the individuals doesn't matter and instead the politicians tend to make people like themselves (be that veterans or mallfuckers) want to vote for them because... well, they're like themself.

A veteran votes for a veteran because that's what veterans do, just like war happy non-veterans vote for war happy non-veterans. It's that simple. And stupid.

George Bush and Dick Cheney have each said that Senator Kerry's service in Vietnam was honorable while the Kerry campaign and the DNC spread vicious lies.

And that's the end of that chapter!

He volunteered for the Navy Reserves and his unit was called up. He chose the swift boats because it was the safest thing AT THE TIME. Unfortunately for him, the docterine concerning swift boats changed and it became one of the most dangerous jobs.

None of this matters though. If Kerry handt brought it up then it wouldnt have been an issue. Now he is kinda stuck with.

Would be nice if we could talk about more important things like social security and how we are gonna deal with this little terrorism thing.

Does no Republican see the hypocrisy of this statement?
