I like it!

I like especially how you focus on the clean, cool, and truthful. And even when you do get into the "last-ditch" section, you make it very clear what the limitations are.

I think you'd get a better response it you took this and got it formatted into a post. I think some might be reluctant to open a document from an unknown party online. Not that I have know much of anything about html (ht-whozee-whatee?) but if you could find some resource and get the text on the post I bet it'd work out pretty well.

Bingo. Also, a lot of the posters here probably aren't going to read something as long as that appears to be...

Yep, I'd say that's the best idea. Opening .doc files online can be a really bad idea.

Ya know, as Clark Gable said, "And I don't give a damn!"

Shouldn't that be "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn", or am I just missing a level of irony here?

I was close, but it cannot be changed now. The poll stands as it is, wrongly said or not.

Sorry, but I don't like long post.

Ah, a heroic effort to purvey the debate efforts that are axiomatic to an intellectual, yet hidden to those who are rather ignorant.

I find this greatly amusing.

Because using big words makes you smarter...

A good debater/writer/whatever is more concerning with clarity and comprehension than anything else. Don't speak above the level of your audience if you expect to sway anyone...and more importantly, don't speak above your own level. Ever wonder why Bush wins over so many people? He is incapable of speaking above anyone's level...although when he tries, he looks like a dumbass...

I don't think efforts can be purveyed: certainly not in the context you give where one is purveying them in order for them to be made by another.

It depends on who speaks. Some people use big words to hide their incompetence; others do it because that's who they are. It all depends. And I wouldn't be talking about Bush; Kerry really is a dumbass. He couldn't make up his mind if the question was a yes or no.

This is getting off topic, but you started it, so:

I consider the man who is unsure of everything much smarter than he who believes that he knows everything. Indecision is not a sign of stupidity. Read your Socrates.

Great.

Anyway, in other news, why don't you like long posts, Rekanai? I understand that trying to make other people read a long post is sometimes not really polite, but then again making people read the word document, which is as long, doesn't havethat many differences, except that people can choose if that takes up half their screen. Maybe that's it. I'm not being persucatory. I'm just curious. Seriously, no ulterior motives.

Maybe you should listen to his debates. Either he or his screenwriters is an/are idiot(s). His 'favorite' Bible passage is John 16:3-"They will do such things because they have not known the Father (God) or me."(NIV). We all know he ment John 3:16, but something strikes me as quite funny here. At least he used a valid book unlike some people. This is just one example of his grand stupidity; I haven't even explained the "flip-flop" side of him. Besides, it is just an example. I don't want to get into a political debate right now.

In response to you...
Even thought I know that many of the post that are long are very well done and are quite well put, it is my belief that something that long is quite sadistic, and even though I am so, I think that if you have to state something, you shouldn't make it take up twelve pages of text on the post. That's why I put my long ones into another form that can be taken off the original page that it originates from and be able to minimize/maximize it w/o taking the rest of everything with it. Thank you for you concern, though.
