The depths to which humans can drop

Just saw this video on tv.... from the dashboard camera in a police cruiser.
A man was being chased by police for some infraction or another (dont know what) and he slows down... you see the driver side door opening, the car never stops... next thing you see is a baby in a carseat being lowered down to the ground and when the man lets go, it tumbles several times before coming to a stop on it's side.
What on this earth could possible cause a man to do that to a baby? What the hell could he have been thinking? I just cant make sense of this.
I'm never really shocked to see humans commit attrocities of one sort or another.

I hate to ask this, but did the baby survive?

I don't think they'd be able to show it on TV if the baby died.

Apparently the baby was fine. The cops scooped the baby up, babyseat and all.

Actually, it shows a humane side to the man.
He didn't want the baby to get hurt. He slowed way the hell down put the baby on the ground in the carrier, which completely protected the baby. It's not like he threw it out the window at highway speeds. The carrier rolled a little, but it did not "tumble".
The baby was unhurt.
The driver, however, plowed into a cop car shortly thereafter and died due to his injuries. He knew it wouldn't end well for him, so he decided to save the baby.

We discovered the depths to which humans can drop last week in Beslan.
We discovered the depths to which humans can drop sixty years ago in Auschwitz.

How respectful to those who have died.

Without laughter, you cannot truly call yourself human. If we couldn't laugh, we couldn't react to most of life. Remember that some people laugh when they face something that is too tragic for tears.
Besides, who says the dead wouldn't want us to laugh? If I "die by choking to death while trying to remove a bra with my teeth" I want some laughter at my funeral.

He would have shown the humane side if he had stopped and surrendered, risking no one. As it was he risked his own life, his girlfriends, the girlfriends babies, and everyone else around him on the streets that day.

If no one laughs at that funeral please call me. I'll laugh
I don't know 'bout other traditions but where I live it is customary to have a coffeetable after a funeral, for people to share memories (you can't do it all in church). Now a friend of mine wants a beertable, and I want one too.

Not believing. Not believing life is worth living. Not believing that you have a place in life. It's the people who have that kind of view who show us how far we can fall. People who stop believing never considered that they could do something to show us how good we can actually be. We are the supposed smartest beings on this planet. We should be smart enough to make something worth living so we never stop believing.

I'm SURE you meant this to be funny. But it took me three reading before I saw what was wrong with it. I guess I'm a little slow tonight.
...I assure you I'll try to call, but forgive me, I may be busy. Being dead and all.

Men like that are still the exception. And the baby was unhurt, which is good.

That might be different because it would be through your own doing...though I would still have a hard time laughing at the fact that you were dead! :-/
Sometimes laughter's very necessary--but I do think things like the death of innocents, especially by murder (the original post of mine was in response to someone belittling the deaths at Beslan, and Auschwitz) aren't to be enjoyed or laughed at. They need to be taken very seriously so that people NEVER get any kind of idea it's acceptable or entertaining to repeat it.
