For anyone who is not familiar with a "12 step program," it's something that is used to help people on the road to recovery from alcohol or drug use. This would be modeled somewhat on that.
1. First, you must realize you have an addiction (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=351329).
2. Realize that you are not alone in your addiction. There are others who are as addicted or worse.
3. You must decide that addiction is affecting your every day life.
4. You must discover the signs of your addiction manifesting itself.
5. You must learn to seek help for your condition.
6. You must recognize any withdrawal symptoms that you may encounter in your attempt to deprive yourself of your fix.
7. You must realize that an occasional slip up and return to NS is not the end of your war. It is merely one lost battle in a long war.
8. You must realize that you will likely remain in recovery for the rest of your life... eh, maybe for a few months, anyway.
9. You should maintain an [offline] journal of your progress and your feelings as you embark upon your new journey.
10. You must delete any NS-related bookmarks, sell or give away any books or other materials purchased specifically for NS use.
11. You must learn how to help others to work toward overcoming their own addictions to NS.
12. Be able to look yourself in the mirror and proudly say, "My name is [insert name here], and I'm a NS addict."
Disclaimer: This thread is intended to be a light-hearted joke relating back to the addiction thread I posted earlier. Hopefully, someone will get a good chuckle out of this.
