What kind of home secretary do we have? Blunket with his talk first then think system of politics. First an accused football hooligan is deported too early so when he arrives in the UK the country then sent him and the UK have no legal right to prosecute, so what does our dummy say? We will pursue this person and ensure he is locked up (or words to that effect). So not only does he not bother what the law says but he is able to condemn a man without trial, and even if there were a trail he has just given the defence a great line. ‘How can my client have a fair trail when the home secretary ahs pronounced his guilt?’
Now with the fathers for justice protester he says that the man would have been shot if he had gone any further. No not on your say so Dim whit! The police officer (in the UK) with his finger on the trigger is the one to make any decision, he cannot be told to shoot. As when an officer gets his fire arms slip there are lovely phrases on the back that more or less say. ‘We give you this weapon but should you choose to use it on your own head be it’.
He says that a Chief constable must go on his say so because of lack of public confidence, then when it is shown that the vast majority of the people he serves support the Chief constable he says it’s the confidence of the country in him not those who he serves and who pay his wages. The Police chief then returns to work at a later date to a standing ovation, yet is still forced to retire early because some report criticised his force, along with successive home secretaries including the current one, who I might point out still bungles along in his job.
So now I’ve got that of my chest I feel a lot better.
Anyone have any thoughts (sorry to all none UK residents as you may be in the fortunate position of never clapping eyes on our dolt of a home secretary).
