Hey, i was wondering if anyone could help me out.
My dad bought a Pc, Hp and as usual its come with a crappy graphics card, so i was wondering if anyone could help me out.
I need a card that is Directx 9.0 compatible and Hardware accelrated
Transform & Lighting supporting.
Price £150 downwards.
British Site.
If anyone knows of one, or could find me one, it would be greatly appreciated :D.
Thanks !.
Er....well...you can have my TNT2-M64 for a dollar.
*sound of crickets*
....no? :D
Try http://www.cclcomputers.co.uk/. Should have something on there for you, and is a British site, and pretty good prices. We get most of our stuff there (currently standing at five and a half computers).

Not sure how these compare with other sites in terms of prices but they do have quite a good range of cards.

I am so royally pi**ed. I tried getting Pandora Tomorrow for my PC, yet it said I needed a graphics card with 4x the capability of my current one!
www.dabs.com is a fairly decent site.

I think it's about time I replace my 16MB ATI Rage 128 Ultra. :D I can play America's Army with it (okay, so I've never actually played online, and I can't play the SF missions...), but I'd like to be able to play MOHPA. I don't know much about video cards, but it looks like either the GeForce FX 5600 or the Radeon 9600 might be what I need. I hope you don't mind if I post what I need in this thread...
ATI or Nvidia 3D video accelerator card, not a Voodoo card
Direct3B compliant <--- I think that was probably a typo on my part...Google gets no useful results for Direct3B, but it does for Direct3D.
OpenGL-capable
SVGA <--- Are there even any new cards that don't meet this?
24-bit color-capable <--- Are there even any new cards that don't meet this?
128MB
4x
supports hardware transformation & lighting
full support for DirectX 9
1024 x 768 resolution <--- Are there even any new cards that don't meet this?
DirectDraw 3.0 compatible driver
Would the GeForce FX 5600 and/or the Radeon 9600 meet the above requirements, and should I get something different? My price requirements, while not so clearly defined, are lower than World wide allies's.

Nianacio, It depends whether you mind going for a generic card rather than a specific brand, if you don't mind you can pick up a Radeon 9800pro 128Mb for about £140 (that's the price including VAT). It really depends on how much you are willing to spend.
Both of the cards you mentioned would probably work, I have a list of 9600 here:
http://www.eclipsecomputers.com/search.aspx?search=radeon%209600
and GeForce FX5600 here
http://www.eclipsecomputers.com/search.aspx?search=FX5600
In my opinion, Ati cards are generally better than nvida

You bought your HP... (or your dad bought your Hp) at the wrong place!
Mine came with GeForce FX 5200... It's decent...
Honestly why would anyone by an integrated 64mb one...

Well, I can get you a 2GB ATI for around $10 000 CAN.
If you can, get something new by ATI or NVidia. They're both good. Get at least 128 MB.

XT for ati is the juiced up version, xt for nvidea is the stripped down version. NEVER get a XT version for Nvidea cards.
That being said, I have a 9600XT and its great. I am just waiting for the prices of the x800s to come down a bit before I replace it though. Pandora tomorrow runs flawlessly.
Make sure your HP has an agp slot before you buy a card though. Your comp probably came with an integrated graphics chip.
