I think it's going in the more general direction of 'the president is a woman'
*gasp*
how could she not have told anyone when she was running for office? Everyone believed they were electing a man -naturally, because what other gender could ever be president??- and then *boom* she turned into a woman! just like that!
...amazing.

Yeah, we have a presidential election this year. The incumbent, who Seosoviets refers to, is Mary McAleese. I hope that UN human rights dude runs. Not that Mary McAleese is bad, but I think he would be better.

Mary McAleese, President of Ireland (on the right)
The Irish President is not very powerful, she's a figurehead of state. The real power is in the Prime Minister. To be honest, the US presidential election matters more to me than the Irish one - the former actually has consequences. I only really get passionate about the general elections here.
