In response to the "Post your desktop" thread, I'm creating the "Post your system specs" thread. What kind of computer are you running, what version of windows (or another OS), CPU speed, RAM, HD, Video Card, etc.

Me: Running a Pentium 4 2.8GHZ (WO Hyperthreading, Intel Clone Motherboard, 800MHz Bus) with 256MB RAM. 160 (149) GB hard drive, currently 70% full. NVidia GEFORCE FX 5200 video card. Running Windows XP Professional service pack 1, with StyleXP to cover up the taskbar, icons and general apperance.

Hmmm ... well here's my POS:

Intel Celeron 1.7 GHz
512 MB Ram
Maxtor 60g HD
NVidia GEForce2 MX 200
Running both Windows XP Home SP2 and Mandrake Linux 9.0 (dual boot)

Sound, however, is my baby. I primarily use my computer to record music and use the Soundblaster Extigy with a great Bose surround system.

I record as well, but I just use my integrated sound card. Soon, however, I shall have a nice sound card... still looking around for the best!

Windows XP SP2 sucks! Just wondering, why does everyone download it? It slows down your internet for the purpose of "security". Just get a virus scan and an anit-hacker program and your fine.

Wow.... I actually managed to hijack my own topic. That's a first.....

Nice! Did it come with your computer or seperate? (P.S. I'm assuming that your using American dollars, so that's about $120 for me, which is still good.)

The Extigy is really nice, but it's subjective just like anything else in the computer world. Let's just say I'm very satisfied with it. :)

Seperate, I built most of this myself (old compaq computer, replaced just about everything in it)
