I just wanted to make a thread that puts POLITICS ASIDE and is just here so people can post condolences about that horrible day 3 years ago.

September 11, 2001. I was watching footage from that day and i cried, because it brought back such strong memories. The planes crashing into the buildings, the frantic Americans running from the advancing storm of dust and wreckage, the towers falling...

Whether your Democrat or Republican, European or American- I believe that those people, THOSE 3,000 humans that were murdered in such a brutal, digusting way for doing what was owed to them.
The American Dream.
They were just following the dream that is the American Dream. They were hard-working people, earning a good living to raise good children and good families.

And then there were the heroic NYPD and FDNY, that sacrificed their lives to save hundreds of innocents from the burning towers. America at its best, Americans at their best.

I pay my respects to the Americans that died that day for liberty, equality, and the pursuit of happiness that defines America.
I WILL NEVER FORGET...

Good to see a thread like this!

I thought about what happend on that day. About the people who jumped out of buildings rather than burn to death. About the man who called his wife and told her goodbye right before he rushed the terrorists and stopped that plane from killing more people. I think of the firefighters who rushed into the building to save people, never to be seen again. I think of the shoe store owner who passed out running shoes to women with high heels.

September 11th must never be forgotten. We can never go back and we can only go forward. No one should ever forget!

the worst thing about 911 is that something like that could happen
the best thing about it is the way it brought people together

I will never forget the thousands of Chileans who died because of the US-sponsored military coup, which started 31 years ago today. For shame.

I know, I agree those were good times...good times.

I sympathize with the Spanish and Russians and anyone who has fell vistim to terrorism, for Americans however, we had been hit by terrorists before, but do we rememebr those dates?
No.
ONly the big Brand name disasters interest us.
I feel worst for the people who experienced the attack first hand, they were effected, they were changed, not me. I was not hurt, I lost no loved ones.
I memorialize alll those injured and killed and transformed by the acts of 9/11 and the acts afterward and before, because I am lucky enough to have been spared completely. I am obligated to say "I remember." So that the ones who need to, might try to forget.

Myrth, thats quite obviously trolling, and political in nature too, thats disgraceful behavior from a mod.

I salute them.

My youngest daughter was in the Windows On The World restaurant atop one of the towers the day before the attacks. She was stranded in NYC when they closed the airports. This day has a special poignance for me for this reason, in addition to all the other reasons for remembering this day.

....This is not a day to heckle, joke, or be cynical ass-holes about what happened on 9/11 or the US's reaction....So perhaps, instead of heckling us, joking at us, you should shut the hell up and mind your own business.

Fact#1 This is an INTERNATIONAL forum.

Fact#2 Most People aroud the World shares the opinion that Amerika is guilty of greater(>9/11) Terrorism.

Advice#1 Sensitive Girls(boys) should not openly "Mourn" 9/11...And expect everyone else to Shut-up. Do You prayers Privately(like i do)...Or with people you know...not in the Forums...

Agreed, it would be foolish to believe that any of the trash that frequent these forums is capable of mourning American citizens, of course we are supposed to roll over and die if someone else where is hurt or sneezes or what ever. We are expected to send money and men to die at the whim of nations who like revolutionsz is kind enough to point could give a f&ck about us when they cry for it, and then when we show the slightest amount of self service we labeled selfish and evil.
Yes no one should expect ot mourn 3000 dead Americans who had nothing to do with Dead Chileans, nothing to do with the Gaza strip, Nothing to Do with American Foreign policy, Nothing to do with American Military policy, and expect to recieve sympathy because as Revolutionsz makes perfectly clear in the eyes of people like him each and every American is guilty of far worse then the terrorists who commited the world trade center attacks.

I don't think you're the one here who defines trolling.

Indeed, for all those who died in the Pentagon and the WTC, American, or otherwise, black, white, Latino, Arab, Asian, and every other nationality, race, creed (and species) that died in the attacks, or afterwards attempting to rescue those who were trapped.
Those who say America has done worse, well, what did these people do?
I wont say they were innocent, they werent, but who is? Everybody has sins, even if they happen to be Atheists.
As far as I am aware Delta Force does not consist of stock brokers, company CO's and janitors.
I know that America has done worse, and worse has resulted from our indirect actions. All countries have embarassing incidents in their past, some on par with Hitlers attempt to exterminate the Jews, I wont go into details because this is supposed to be non-political, but any country that was or is a World Power has no right to claim that its more moral, because they are rather like human beings, they all sin at some point.
So, consider this post a memorial to ALL those who have died as a result of such attrocities inflicted on them by others, from the first cavemen who said 'Hey, thats a pretty nice field there, we'll take it." and figured out that if you hit somebody hard enough they stop moving, to the innocent Iraqi who just died in the crossfire between the US troops and a suicide bomber.
May they never be forgotten, because if we forget, who is there to care about them?
