Food for thought, and a bit of hope?

They are not accepting responsibility for actually PERPETRATING the acts, but for condoning them through silence. A Spanish proverb: "Quien calla, otorga." He who remains silent approves.

I thought this would be good to post on 9-11 because people need to see that Islam is not united in hatred.

This is ridiculous, I've heard so many different Muslims condemn the terrorists, it's just that news programmes find it more interesting when one lunatic approves it.

"They" in this post refers to the authors of the article, moderate Muslims who wish to show that Islam is not comprised solely of fundamentalists.

Just like Christianity...Judaism...or Budism...or any other major religion.

Im sure you dont need "they" to tell you that...any normaly intelligent person should know that ....

I think it is wrong that the moderate Muslim community feels obligated to apologize. They didn't do it, and gave no one the impression that they did. It was the terrorists that did it, and they need to offer us an apology.

I can hear Osama now:

"I'm sorry for Killing 3000 Infidils"

Sorry New Anthrus! I sincerely doubt that the terrorists will apologize for their deeds. If anything, they revel in the destruction they caused.

These people felt obligated to apologize and I respect them even more. To bad there aren't more of them out there.

Why? I feel obligated to appologize for Iraq. Bush hijacked the USA and crashed it into Iraq with great loss of life as a result. Though I never backed bush or the war, I feel that my country has made a grave error. Perhaps if moderate muslims loudly condemn the terrorists who have hijacked their religion they can discourage such events from happening again.

This is simply amazing! I never thought it was even possible! These people must be taking huge risks.

I never knew there were moderate muslims.

They have been hiding themselves very well lately - heck - took three years just to get this message to the press. They must be fearful of their more radical siblings.
