Man, you didn't even get the names right.

Not "We don't need no...." Another Brick in the Wall pt II
Not "Earthbound Misfit" Learning to Fly
Not Darkside of the Moon, thats an album,-Eclipse
Home Again if I'm guessing you right, is the second half of Time.
And by "Fever" do you mean Comfortably Numb?

At least let me know that you don't think Pink Floyd is a guy. I'm in a mellow mood and don't want to ruin it...
See, this is why you shouldn't steal your music....

What?????

Time is about the steady march of TIME and is one of the elements that can contribute to going slightly mad (the theme of Darkside of the Moon) You run and you run to catch up with the sun but its sinking, racing around to come up behind you again. The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older. Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.... Time, dammit!!!

How is Comfortably Numb NOT about becoming Comfortably Numb to Pink's (the 'character' of The Wall) surroundings??????

"...all in all, it was all just bricks in the wall." The slow collection of the bricks that made up the wall between him and the world? EH?????

Learning to Fly was a post Waters song that was a complicated reference, so I'm gonna let you slide. But the rest--go listen, I mean LISTEN to these songs before you start trying to decide 'best.'

I have current infatuation with If, but favorites fluctuate.

"Echoes", hands down, is the greatest musical and lyrical accomplishment the Floyd ever had.

"Wearing the Inside Out" is the one that means the most to me personally.

I like "Wish You Were Here" myself, but it is a little overplayed. Then there's "See Emily Play" or something like that. It was different.

Arg if only I had a copy of that album. But I prefered whatever the song was with Pigs On The Wing, the one that started and ended the album.

What the hell are you talking about?

Their lyrics have EVERYTHING to do with the title of the song.

Not "We don't need no...." Another Brick in the Wall pt II
1.Not "Earthbound Misfit" Learning to Fly
2.Not Darkside of the Moon, thats an album,-Eclipse
3.Home Again if I'm guessing you right, is the second half of Time.
4.And by "Fever" do you mean Comfortably Numb?

1. Another brick in the wall pt. 2 is about the character "Pink" 's upbringing and school days, and how it helped attribute to his complete dissasociation from reality....or "another brick in the wall"..
2. Learning to fly is written by Gilmour, who after the departure of Roger Waters, the bass player, and primary songwriter.
"Learning to fly" refers to David Gilmours feelings of continuing without him.
"It was like having to learn to fly again".
3. The song you are refering to is "Breathe (reprise)".
The album is about life, death, money, and madness.
The song "Breathe" is merely about appreciating what you have.

"Breathe....breathe in the air. Dont be afraid to care....."

If you like those songs you have in the poll, you should check out more of their stuff.
Early to late..its all really good. Some albums are better than others.

I recommend getting really high, and listening to UmmaGumma.
Thier first album.

I lost my mind while listening to this album.
It was New Years Eve, and we were all tripping.
I also consumed 12 beers as well, (cuase I couldnt feel the alchohol, and had no idea how drunk I really was)

Well..we got kicked out of our hotel room, and were heading home.
I decided throwing up in a McDonalds bag sounded really like the thing to do, and then again beside the road.

Well, from all the enthusiastic barfing, I got me a little headache.
So, I get back in the car, all the while still tripping merrily.

That album drove me insane.....in the back of a small sedan, on hallucigenics
with my head hurting....listening to the most psychedelic music ever made.

I havent been the same, really.
Not bad....just.....different.

"Wish You Were Here" simply because not only is it a beautiful song, it's a very personal song for Pink Floyd, since it deals with Syd Barrett's mental illness.

You know, thats funny, cause thats my LEAST favorite Floyd album.
Musically its great, but its also the most depressing album ever put into recordable media.
"Fletcher memorial home for ...." and two suns in the sunset" make me want to chew my own wrists open.

Is it bad music?
No far from it!
Its just sooooooooo saaaaaaaaaad.

(and its also the album that didnt even give credit to Rick Wright. waters was a total tyrant by then.)

I believe it may of been their most political album, and I love my politics. However it is very sad. I believe it was suppose to be.

D'oh. I was trying to figure out what he meant and was blinded by dumbfoundedness......I also think, now that I reflect, he was probably talking about Brain Damage when he said "Darkside of the Moon"...

Piper at the Gates of Dawn is thier first album. I believe the transition album (Barret to Gilmour) was Saucerful of Secrets, though that second one I'm not 100%.

Sorry, I had to recover from missing that he was talking about Breathe.....

Your right about Piper being the first album.
UmmaGumma was their second, I believe.

I had originally had typed in piper, but I remembered that wasnt the album I was listening to at the time...it was ummagumma.
I forgot to edit it out.

I suggest grabbing a tissue.......

If I were a swan, I'd be gone.
If I were a train, I'd be late.
And if I were a good man,
I'd talk with you
More often than I do.

If I were to sleep, I could dream.
If I were afraid, I could hide.
If I go insane, please don't put
Your wires in my brain.

If I were the moon, I'd be cool.
If I were a book, I would bend for you.
If I were a good man, I'd understand
The spaces between friends.

If I were alone, I would cry.
And if I were with you, I'd be home and dry.
And if I go insane,
And if they lock me away,
Will you still let me join in the game?

If I were a swan, I'd be gone.
If I were a train, I'd be late again.
If I were a good man,
I'd talk with you
More often than I do.

I had to learn to play that one too.
Its a nice sweet, and sad song.
I havent played it in years, but I seem to remember that it was played on a classical, and maybe even with a leather pick.
That may be why I never could get it perfectly down.

I think it is about Heroin. I did that shit once, and this song made perfect sense. I think my favorite Floyd song, is the one that is the most Floydian in nature (and yes, Floydian is now a word) and that would be "Us and Them".
It's political, it has sample tracks, and it is one of the best songs ever, just like Pink Floyd is one of the best bands ever. They blur the line between number 10 and number 1. It is really hard to tell if they are the best, third best, fifth best, etc. I guess it's all just a matter of personal opinion.

I play a few of the Floyd songs, but it never sounds good enough. I think that it works out this way. Floyd is the god, and I'm just the idol. I can never be the real thing. Nor can anyone else. *Sigh* That's too bad. Never again can anyone be that good. :(

I would have to go for either Interstellar Overdrive for its fantastic opening riff, or The Nile Song off Relics, which is Mid-Western American hardcore 15 years too early. Listen to it and then listen to early Husker Du and tell me I'm wrong.

Autism, I reckon, along with just about everything else on The Wall soundtrack - strangely enough autism also forms the central core of that other rock opera Tommy...

Richard Wright wasn't even in the band when they recorded The Final Cut.... He was kicked out while they were recording "The Wall" he toured with them as a hired musician. That's why he was the only one of them who actually made money off of the tour.
