im not shy but i am an introvert
whenever i go away for a few days and act all social and nice to people i have to hybernate for a week or so before i feel right again.

I think if you polled the regulars on the forums you'd find an overwhelming population of introverts because while this can be considered a social activity it does not require the nuances of face to face meetings.
As for me, I'm not really either. Sometimes I like to be alone and sometimes I like to be surrounded by as many people as possible, it's all a matter of situation.
