Texas Week: Day 6

Okay, so tomorrow is day 7, the final day of Texas week, but today was day 6. Obviously...(by the way, Texas week is the week leading up to the Arkansas-Texas rivalry game)

How was my day spent?

This morning: On the way to class I heard things on the radio such as "Tuck Fexas," and "Yea, I hear the Texas man likes his sausage," among other things.
After parking, I got on a bus that would take me from the lot, to the union. A frat house with a huge orange wooden longhorn logo over the entrance...upside down. Additionally, there were people camping out in "The Pit" (the parking lot just on the north side of DWR Razorback Stadium) and the tents were going up in "The Trough" (heh...the trough...). So, I got on campus and took a nap in Univ Chem I. After that, I headed back to the union because I had 2 hours to kill before Cal I H. I saw Matt Jones (Arkansas QB, one of, if not the number one, best quarterback in the nation). In part of the union, they had edited out all the commercials, timeouts, halftime, etcetera from last year's Ark-Tex game and they were playing that. I watched the entire game (becuase without all the junk, it was only 40 minutes long). Then while I was watching that, there were quite a few members of the football team that were in and out. Everyone around that area of the union was doing the upside down hook 'em horns and such. I went to Cal I H. That class was long and hot (the AC doesn't work). Afterwards, I was headed home and just as I was getting near the interstate, the Texas Longhorn buses come headed up to campus. Nearly every car on the road rolled down their window, stuck out their hand, and did the upside down hook 'em horns (which is probably worse than getting flipped off by everyone on the road). Anyway--Go Hogs! Beat Texas!

Another interesting thing:

Tons of people have been about on campus wearing shirts which on the front read "Beat Texas" and on the back "...and the steer they rode in on." That's just great. There's just no beating those SEC fans. Greatest football fans in the world.

Hey, UT has more rivals than you can shake a stick at.

All you get is delegated the number three slot.

Number one goes to Texas A&M, number two to Oklahoma

Texas hasn't won a game against the Razorbacks in over a decade, yet they've always been the better ranked team and the favorite going into the game, and the main reason this game is so huge is because back in the days of the SWC, Arkansas was Texas's biggest rival, but after the SWC, Texas and Arkansas didn't play often because they were in different conferences. Tomorrow will be Texas's first visit to Fayetteville since 1989 (despite having played them a few times since then). Additionally, I'd like to note that Texas is on a 3 game losing streak to Arkansas.

Are you going to the game? Is Bush still going to be there? I remember you mentioned that a couple of weeks ago that he was going to be at the game. If he is, I wonder what seceurity will be like getting into and out of the game--yeesh.
