I voted for America circa 1900 because slavery was abolished and this time period before 1929 was the best time for America. The average amount of money a person got went up 5% every year.

was great, but had ZERO social programs, handled exclusively by charities....wait a minute...that's how it should be.......

only a small minority wants to be like canada. still unsure why they don't take a bus trip up there and stay, if they like it so much. way, way too much regulation and taxation up there.

oh yeah, its horrible to pay the federal government taxes to pay your medical bills for you. here you dont pay taxes on that, but you pay private ensurers the same amount of money to pay for SOME of your medical bills and you have to pay it if it goes over what the ensurers cove. i rather pay the government and not pay shit myself

Canada and the US are leading. Does that mean that only far right and far left are voting? Or does it mean that the US is almost exactly like Canada?

You're only making it more expensive. You're now paying for illegal immigrants, too, and there's the cost of American bureaucracy...

wrong, ther are things that would not have to be paid for if the government took over said operations, you may be paying more, but not a significant amount

and no, you wouldnt be paying for illegal immigrants because they are not part of the system.

Actually you WOULD be paying for illegal immigrants because earlier this year, Bush made them full citizens. Besides, before ya know it, you'd be paying for abortions too.

...you still seem to not realise the you are paying for people without insurance if you have insurance. if it becomes a TAX even uninsured people MUST pay and there will be no insurance for medical coverage, rates will be ultimately much cheaper.

do you have a real or at least intelligent argument to counter?

Us libertarians don't agree with ANY taxes. Health care would be affordable to everyone, because with no taxes, you'd have the money you need for healthcare. I do agree that the unemployed should have free health care though.

I would say Switzerland. They enjoy many MORE freedoms that we do in America. I would just get rid of the neutrality bit. The world superpower cannot be uninvolved with the rest of the world.

But would that been possible if every mission needed the approval via a referendum?
There are certain things that doesn´t work outside of Switzerland. Switzerland is remaining their completly neutrality policy also because the population is rejecting changes of it. That are the facts.

We DO pay for illegal immigrants. They get benefits easier than American citizens do. Have for years. And the legislature (not just Bush) voted to give the ones here now work Visas, but only if they come forward and register for them. They then become "legal" immigrants, not citizens (yet).

Um, I kinda lean to the right, CH. But I'm also firmly based in reality. I've had family members who worked and paid taxes since their teens have to jump thru ridiculous hoops to get disability benefits, while others who contribute little or nothing to taxes get taken care of with no trouble. It's a crock. If we had a national system, this wouldn't be a problem. I'm also pretty sure the bs lawsuits that contribute to rising health care costs wouldn't happen, because people would actually have to be responsible for their own carelessness if they get burned with hot coffee or some such thing.
