Just you. I'm giddy with anticipation.
Retro Science Fiction, man-I could go on about what this movie does but I usually get credit for that kind of behavior. I haven't been this excited about a film since 1977.......

Because she is an awful actress. Well not Hayden awful but mediocre.
I think Skycaptain was an old strip from the 40's if not older.
I will wait for rental as I will not pay theater prices for Gwen baby.

I disagree. It has the potential to be crap, but if it's executed right, it could also be completely awesome.

Anyone remember The Phantom? I mean...wow. It had potential...it just ended up sucking.

Looks like it is going to suck hard. What a pile. Paltrow is an okay actress, Angelina is the worst actress, and fugly to boot.

Well, from the trailer I saw it looked pretty cool - like a high tech version of the camp old days of sci-fi like Flash Gordon...
...and Angelina Jolie in a uniform and eyepatch...oh yeah! :)

It's aimed at an audience that enjoys retro, somewhat comic-book-style things. So while it isn't just you, a lot of people will disagree with you.

I'm praying on my knees to God it won't suck. Don't get me wrong it has a pretty good chance of being good. But with Jude Law playing the lead...I can't be certain.

Actually, I don't mind Jude Law. In the young(ish) batch of Hollywood superstars, I think him and Johnny Depp are possibly two of the best. I don't much care for Affleck, Hartnett, DiCaprio, Damon or most of the others...

Based only on the television ads and in theater previews I think the potential for this movie is very high. Artistically it could be stunning and the story line, while relatively formulaic is still entertaining. There's a reason the formulas get written a certain way. Between a strong cast and equally strong art direction the film could pull off what only The Fifth Element could in recent years, be both an entertaining action move, and actually good.
