Ivan is currently a class 5 hurricane. It went through Grenada a couple days ago, and the oficial report is that 90% of the buildings were destroyed. Gusts were reported of over 200 miles an hour. The average speed was 160 miles an hour. If you live in Florida, I seriously suggest you start evacuating before you get hit. This one has the 9th lowest air pressure recorded this century, which makes it one BAD ass storm. Also, it will most likely take the same path as Charlie, i.e., go through Florida and continue up the eastern seaboard. I live in South Carolina, but hopefully it will be weak when it reaches us. Louisiana will probably get nothing more than a bit of rain.

I've been calling it Ivan the Terrible since last week.
Seriously though, anyone in Florida (or Jamaica, but I don't know how many Jamaicans we have here) should brace for this one, it's the worst hurricane this year, and the worst one I've seen my whole life (not counting Andrew, because I was a toddler for that one)
