Sure they do--when the US sneezes, the rest of the world gets a cold. If you can't take the criticism, then maybe you ought to go ask your mommy for a cookie.

Well, given that we're all a part of an international community, with which America interacts with, the outcome will have a global impact. For example, the outcome of the 2000 elections affected the lives of Iraqis, right? Each canidate has different foreign policies, which will determine our relationships with other countries down the road.

Well some do. Some Americans I might add.

Also, maybe you should. A nation can get a lot more done if it has other countries willing to help it.

If Bush was genuine in his wish to fight terrorism, he might have handled other nations better and got their help.

No.
Why should we? Or didn't they bother to explain the concept of 'freedom of speech' to you at school?
[sigh] Now I suppose I'll have to actually think up an opinion on the US presidential election...drat....still, rights must be not just won, but rewon...

Yeah, but China or Russia could. Hell, even the French have some. Any really pissed off country could just nuke the crap out of our major cities. We'd be in trouble if DC or New York were out of the picture.

Oh and Endo, it doesn't amtter if you have the most nukes when other countries have enough to destroy almost all life on earth through bombings and the nuclear winter that ensues.

If the Republican administration would shut up about how Australian's should vote in our forth coming election. I'd be more sympathetic.

Given the fact that your government believes that we are going to the polls to vote for or against a Bush. I guess I'm free to express my views on the topic.

We may have gone "All the way with LBJ" in 1976 (I'm not joking that was the main campaign slogan for the winning side. But I don't think we should be going anywhere with GWB.

Its pointless to speak with such idiots.

The US's foreign policies since after WWII have created the terrorist problem. If it cared about what it did overseas and the lives of the people it was screwing with this problem wouldn't exist.

But since you don't care about foreigners...you must be supporting bad policy wich creates terrorists...

So you're pro terrorist then.

Hmmm, stop meddling in the affairs of other countries then. Historically the US does it aaaall the time. Oh, and invading them just becuase you see fit, and talking endlessly about how the world ( and UN in particular ) wants to stop the US doing what the hell it wants to.

And please stop calling your president ' Leader of the free world'. Let us have our say about what antics he get's up to or we'll just feel further like we're under the psudo rule of an unelected tyrant/dictator.

I appluad your efforts to stop free speech and stifle debate though, good one! :D

But we have the most.

I was pretty sure the Russians had way more nukes than the U.S. Something like twenty thousand something, which I think is more than double what the U.S. has. Not that it matters; destroying the world once is enough.

Really? Could you tell me more? I've not heard (we're not super great about reporting the rest of the world 'round here....) Is it an attempt to keep someone in charge that will keep troops in? Anyway....

Since the majority of the domestic policies in the US are handled through congress and agencies that the president can only influence to greater or lesser degrees, it could be argued that the primary function of the president is to be the face to the international community. We don't send the senate to meet with foriegn leaders, we send the president. Taking that into account, what the international community thinks of the president relivant. Thier say has a built in limit:They can't vote, which in the end is the only opinion that will matter. But saving that, I think it's fair to say that their opinions is something that should be taken in consideration when evaluating the whole. No, we don't let France decide our president. But-we have to consider if the president is going to be able to get anything done. Keep in mind that our lifestyle is reliant on people who don't live here buying our crap and selling us theirs. We're connected, sticking your head in the sand won't change that.

The US elections are not just the business of the US. Since the US is involved in so many dealings around the world it is of the greatest interest of the entire world community that the idiot in the White House is not re-elected. People are dying since Bush is in office in many parts of the world, so shut up and stop claiming non-Americans had no dogs in this fight.
