Bush's numbers are up... and my spirits are down

http://www.electionprojection.com/elections2004.html

Kerry can win if he can carry either Florida or Ohio, or force a draw and a congressional vote if he can take New Hampshire, Wisconsin and Nevada. This draw will turn into a win if Richie Robb of West Virginia decides to vote against Bush (either for Kerry or any third party candidate)

Speaking of down...I think I noticed a headline somewhere that said Cheney's popularity is WAY down. Talk about your weakest link...

At least he finally came out of whatever bunker he's been hiding in the last 3 years in time for the election. It seemed the guy was no where to be seen until the last couple months

Let's get some updated numbers shall we?

Race 2004 (http://www.race2004.net/):

If Nader is on the ballot
Kerry wins the popular vote with 55,327,655 votes (49.57%). Bush places second with 53,774,323 votes (48.18%).

Bush: 254 Kerry: 275 Tie/Undecided: 9

If Nader is not on the ballot
States lacking sufficient polling data to determine a winner: Colorado

Kerry wins the popular vote with 55,322,298 votes (49.57%). Bush places second with 53,856,322 votes (48.26%).

Bush: 254 Kerry: 275 Tie/Undecided: 9

Electoral Vote Predictor (http://www.electoral-vote.com/):
Kerry 264 Bush 222 (Many states tied in a dead heat)

Remember, the electoral prediction site updated right in the middle of Bush's bounce with Time and Newsweek's bad numbers not corrected.

you have to remember that the polls aren't very accurate. They would have to interview every amarican whose registered to vote for it to be a good estimate.

As for the polls, yea they pretty much mean nothing because the debates haven't started yet. The debates will decide this :)

Can't you just hear the Toby Keith music playing in the background? I wonder how much it drops the value of crude oil for it to be radioactive? I'm sure the Bush administration will lasso some creationist scientist into saying that radioactive oil is good for the environment, and if it isn't, it'll cost too much for industry to change.

8 weeks to go and it looks like the bounce that Time and Newsweek gave Bush is illusory, which isn't surprising considering the major methodological stunts they had to pull to get that bounce. Rasmussen, Zogby, Gallup and ARG have all come out in the last couple of days with polls that show Bush got a negligible bounce out of the convention. It ain't even close to being over yet.

It's not surprising that either candidate got little to no bounce from their conventions. Both sides are so entrenched in their support for one guy or the other. There are hardy any undecided voters.

Actually, they don't. At all. Look at the sites. And besides, traditionally, in close elections undecideds break 3 to 1 for challengers, regardless of party affiliation, sometimes 4 to 1. Pollsters believe this is because it's the incumbent's job to sell him/herself before the voter gets to the poll, and if he/she hasn't closed the deal, then they're going to take a flyer on the challenger.

Don't worry too much. This will cause Kerry to fight harder, and Bush supporters to get cockier. I saw on the news a campaign rally where anti-Kerry hecklers were there. Kerry said they were sent by the Bush campaign. Statements like that make me less optimistic for Bush's prospects.

Only if you look at the likely voter model, which is, well, heavy on the extrapolation and thin on the methodology. In the registered voter model, Gallup has it as a one point race.

As opposed to the Bush administration who has spend ridiculously, meaning that taxes will HAVE to be raised eventually. Also, when you have this large of a deficit (the largest ever,) that means the amount of interest the US has to pay goes up...so basically, the Bushies have added a chunk of spending that does absolutely nothing except pay interest...that will eventually have to be paid for with a TAX increase!!! What's worse, the person who realized that things should be paid for as you go, or the spineless bastard who causes waste by making the NEXT guy have to pay for it (meaning us!!!)

How naive are you "Oh no, evil democrats tax us!" Bush-fools?
