Creepy...

If they weren't French, I'd be worried about 'em. :D

So what's the conspiracy?
The State of It

I saw a programme a couple of years ago about unsolved mysteries. One of them was about three French men who whilst exploring the catacombs, came across a Camcorder lying on the floor. When they left the catacombs, they took the tape out of the camcorder and played it.

It showed a first person view, obviously someone with a Camcorder walking through the narrow and dark paths through the catacombs. The person, believed to be a man, was walking along calmly looking at strange looking symbols on walls that he came across, this went on for awhile, the same first person view, man turning around corners into more alleyways, always from his view so you could not see him. Anyway, this went on for awhile, the man looking at symbols on the walls, but now his pace began to quicken. From a walk to a fast walk, looking at symbols on the wall as he passed. Quicker. Faster. Hurried. You could sense from watching this that whoever was filming was getting panicky. He walked faster and faster into a jog, his breath heaving behind the camera, then he was running, his breath deep from running, the camera shaking, as the man turned corner after corner, symbols on the wall passing by, words on the wall too. Something had made this man fill his pants. He may have been lost. But he was also looking at the symbols on the walls and the writing. He ran down this tunnel that had water on the ground, running, running and.... the camera dropped. He dropped the camera, and the view was of a man's legs, than a figure running down the tunnel, away from the camcorder filming. The man's footsteps dissapeared as he he ran further way out of sight. The Camcorder filmed on, nothing happening, than the battery gave up and died.

Intrigued, the three men who found this camcorder and watching this tape, went down the catacombs, proclaiming they were 'experts' at the catacombs, and that they would try to follow the path that the Camcorder man took. They took their own camcorders, and ventured around the catacombs without police knowledge. down more and more tunnels they went, sometimes recognising symbols from the tape they saw. One time they came across a pile of skulls and bones. The hours passed by, and the three men went down more tunnels, further and further they went, more tunnels. These men lost their way. They wanted to go home now. They were tired. They looked for exits, but only blocked ones were found. These 'experts' began to worry a little. Soon they began to worry a lot. They began to think they were trapped, onwards they went down more and more tunnels, blinded by panic. In a twist of good fortune, they stumbled upon an exit. they arose into the night sky streets of Paris, cars going by. Normality.

They were safe. They had been in those catacombs for 20 hours.

They still have the hunger to find what happened to the man with the camcorder. Did he get out? Was he being chased? Was he killed? Is he still down there, his body starbed of food and good water and now nothing more than rotting flesh and bone? They want to know... but they don't travel too far down there anymore. They remember those 20 hours. And they remember the man in that tape and his panicky run.

The Catacombs was used by the French Resistance to horde weapons in WW2. Also a good hiding place for them too.

I saw that documentary.
The place with the bones was a specific place, or rather, it had some significance to it, becuase theres a LOT of bones in the catacombs.
I cant recall why it was significant, but there was something to it.

I dont know if I belive in the supernatural, or not, but if theres one place that likely has some scary stuff in it....its that place.

Makes you wonder what the guy with the camcorder stumbled into.

As for the Theater......you just never know....could be some rich Parisians with a peticular kink....
Could be some secret illuminati...
Might be some creepy cultists....

Who knows?

Kinda cool though..

So what's the conspiracy?
I never said there was a conspiracy. Just that there seems to be a secret society underneath Paris.

I know it is kinda trite. But out of all the secret societies, this secret movie one looks brilliant.

I wanna see them too. It's really impressive, in the creepy sense, but not many tourists even know where to find them.

I wonder if this relates in anyway to the Prieure de Sion . . .

That story about the Camcorder sounds very 'Blair Witchy'. It'd make a damn creepy movie.

Having just read the article it's obvious that this was were the illuminati organised and controlled the world. The big screen was probably connected to Bush's optic nerves so they could see and control him. The bottles of whiskey would explain his malaprophrisms for a start.
Either that or it's where Elvis, Lennon and Diana were holed up (when they visit Earth).

Y'see, any RP gamer worth his dice would have been able to handle that situation. Haven't these people ever heard of mapping as you go?

Sheesh.

I'm amazed someone was so foolish or courageous, kinda depends on how you look at it, to venture into those catacombs alone.

Anyways, sure sounds kinky. :)

The Da Vinci code is a fascinating book - it would be kinda cool if that was like a secret hq or something. But i guess if we were able to find that out it wouldn't really be that secret.

Well, the Masons are a 'secret' society.

Theres something like 400 miles worth of tunnels down there.
Some of them small enough that you have to crawl through.

Its nearly impossible to map that many tunnels.

But large portions have been mapped.
