l337! At which point you must stop posting. It's h4x0r-speak, the ancient language of computer nerds back in the day. Translates to leet, or short for elite.

Slilie threads got smilies nearly banned for a while. So we should go easy on the smilies.

But here's my signature smilie: http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung0304/aetsch/cheeky-smiley-006.gif

Okay, maybe in trying to post it first I rushed it just a tad.

In an effort to make their conversations utterly unreadable by anyone except one of their own, the hackers of old (you know, 10+ years ago, and the 'good' kind, mostly) developed a shorthand language that has since been bastardized into such phrases as 'lol' and 'ty' and 'np' and 'g2g' and 'omg' and the like.

A=4
B=|3
C=(
D=|)
E=3

And so on, I'm not sure about a few, and some vary. They named it h4x0r-speak (where h4x0r = hacker; r0x0r = rocks and sux0r = sucks) but I believe the most common name today is leet-speak. leet (l337) means 'elite.' For instance.

H4x0r #1: I got Gmail!
h4x04 #2: l337! 61\/3 |\/|3 4|\| 1|\|\/173 (leet! give me an invite)

Try looking it up on wikipedia.org if that doesn't help. There's also 'w00t' which means 'woohooooo' or something like that.

Thanks for clearing that up. I've never really understood the whole "leet" thing. And I'm glad I finally understand what w00t means, I see that a lot on this forum and I never know what the heck it means.
