This is the very first installment of what may become a regular post, if anyone actually cares.
First off, I'd like to point out that every movie that will be reviewed will be done so, after seeing the movie, in various forms of innebriation.

I think I just misspelled "Innebriation".....moving on....

Todays movies are on currently in theaters, and one on DVD.
We have "Excorcist" (the prequel) and "Butterfly Effect".

Excorcist was pretty good, really.
I had high hopes that a movie would come along and actually scare me for once, like the first one did.
I wasnt too dissapointed.

We start off with some carnage...and some blasphemy.

I like it already.

Our hero Father Merrin, (who was played by the legendary Max Von Sydow, in the original Excorcist) is the focus, and it tells the story of what he found in the middle of the desert.
Wich if you recall for the first film, is where we meet Merrin.

He kicks ass for the Lord.

Well, to give you a brief rundown without giving anything away...

Merrin struggles with his own faith, and the forces of darkness in an ancient temple, built on the grounds where Lucifer fell to earth.

and then there was ass kicking....

This movie is a MUST see, if your a fan of the Excorcist genre, or have a thing for blasphemy in general. Any film wich has children getting ripped to shreds by hyenas.....

...frickin rules!

I give it a 4 out of 5.

See it stoned.

"The Butterfly Effect".

Okay..I have to tell you...

I HATE Ashton Kutcher.
With a passion, really.

So, I didnt have high hopes for this film right off the bat...
BUT..

I was pleasantly surprised.
This movie was very good, even despite Kutcher.
Really, he wasnt bad in it at all.
The plot was good too.
It deals with the Chaos Theory, and alternate timelines.

If you could go back in time and change one event, would it make things better?
What if every time you did so, it made things worse....what would you do?

It not very often that a movie makes you think, and this one does just that.

I give it a three ans a half, out of five.

3 1/2.

Can you do some classics? How about "Altered States" I don't know who made it or who played in it but it was cool in its day.

Basic story:

Sensory deprivation combined with a hallucinogenics combine to reduce the subject *Himself the moron* to a pre-human state and then a Post-human state.

Some good "period" effects though.

I haven't seen "Anacondas: Curse of the Blood Orchid" and have no plans to, but am I the only one who, when the commercials come on, hears Vizzini telling Princess Buttercup "Do you know what that sound is? Those are the Shrieking Eels. They always get louder right before they feed on human flesh!"

Indeed. Without doubt one of the best.

Has anyone seen The Gods Must be Crazy?I have, but it's probably been twenty years ago. Funny movie, though.

It was far superior to the sequel "The Gods Must be Crazy" Pt. 2.

I saw the butterfly effect on VCR and i have to say that the ending pretty much defines lame. I have heard that the ending on the DVD is better though.

I don't know--I think it's got potential, but I think it's one of those movies where there will be no middle ground. It'll either be great or it'll suck ass.

I'm interested in it because it's the first film of its type where the actors didn't use sets of any type--it's all blue screen work--which had to make it more difficult to react.
