Would you support the Soviet Union's return?
Here's a thought...what if the Soviet Union returned, and revamped their economy and social problems so that they would not fall again like in the 1980's. Discuss the pros and cons of such a return, and whether or not you would like or dislike such a return.

Better then that mess of Russia we have now (and we don't have to worry about terrorism either, at least not against the two superpowers).
Would be neat.
USA, Europe, China, USSR.
4 superpowers :D

Good, someone to really give the US a run for their money. Really, them having that much power isn't healthy for the rest of us.

Thing is, I don't like Soviet Russia's gulags . . .
But I do love 'In Soviet Russia' jokes!!
In Soviet Russia, TV watches you! - or at least in 1984
In Soviet Russia, a tool is you!

Much as I hate to admit it, I kinda miss the Soviet Union. Back in the old days of the Cold War, Capitalists were forced to moderate their treatment of us workin' folk, at least somewhat.

I've had enough of you damned anti-Americans! ;)
I always liked Soviet may day parades. and there was this cartoon from the 1980s before reagon revamed the military which showed a crumbling soviet army and Reagan said "were boned" and it showed a already strong american army. ( i didnt live through the soviets so i dont know if it was better or not if it still existed) But i would rather have the USSR then Osama Bin laden and his groupies.

Well, that was random.
And anyway, the US isnt NEARLY as corrupt as the Soviet Union in its last days, and at least our tourture isnt officialy sanctioned...
EDIT:
To above, yes. For being Evil Commie Pinkos, those Soviets sure did know how to parade :)

It all depends on how they act. If they hold unrigged elections and don't beat their people to death, then sure, it might be interesting to see a socialist power that plays nice.
Absolutely not! I would personally go to Russia to end any such revolution!

There are relatively free elections in Russia now and the Communists take their chances like any other party. Let's leave it to the people to decide. So far, most of them say no.
If they cut back on the dictatorship a bit, no a great deal, actually, and actually gave workers control of the means of production, then I would support it, otherwise no, it wasn't even socialist.

If the Soviet Union returned it would be another country to further stain Communism's name. It would again quickly collapse into a totalitarian mess, crumble and fall apart leading to more turmoil.
