The I joined the Communist Party...

I am some what concerned about how long it takes for my door to be broken down and ASIO to hall me away for "un-patriotic activities". Which raises a question, why did I join? Because I had five minutes to spare and I am willing to support any party bar our two front-runners. I would have joined the NAZIs but apparently they don't like coloured people, who's have thought it? Now I know I sound a little synical, but as a Liberal in Australia the Commies were the closest thing to a non-evil party. The Christian Democrats are more Liberal than the Australian Liberal Party....

Why not the Green Party?

Communism can't be achieved by a political party, but by the action of people opposing the system in an anti-authoritarian manner.

Why not the Green Party?

The Green Party is dangerous, they support something which the two main parties don't! *gasp*

damn radical pinko commie jews.

EDIT: and tree hugging hippies, to a lesser extent.

Why not the Green Party?
Because they have two policies:

1. Save the whales
2. Relax hemp laws

these are good things so why is that an objection? Is your criticism that they dont have anoy other policies or that you dont like whales and hemp?

Whales have their vices, but why would you want them to die?

until then i'll continue smoking the green at a party.

Awww, come on commie friend! Don't look so glum! You're public enemy number TWO now! Maybe even three or four. Terrorists have taken America by storm, and have definately stolen your stage lighting. America doesn't care about the communists anymore. Russia is dead, and now capitalist. China is becoming capitalist in fear of becoming Russia. We just love you as being the idealistic hopefuls.

But, if you ever mention "bomb" and any vehicle in the same sentence, Lord help you. Oops, I just said them in the same sentence. *carts self off to Guantanamo Bay*

I exaggerate quite a large amount here, and honestly don't care about what our government is doing at this point as far as terrorists, but communists can breathe easy for the first time since the 1920's. Really, we just don't care. Communes are nice places though, or so I hear. Not for me, but whatever you like as far as that goes and you aren't up in arms against us.

Interesting. Here in New Zealand, the closest thing we've got to a communist party is Labor - and they are currently leading the present government.

lol. It's interesting to note that the National party (traditionally our conservative party) has become quite a bit more liberal than it used to be. Heck, a social liberal leads it!! A top guy he is too, the former Reserve Bank governor. He supports capitalism, but is very liberal in the social arena (having supported gay marriage and prostitution reform).

So yeah, as a New Zealand liberal, my support goes to the National Party. It's much easier to think of them as a more centrist party now, with members from all over the political specturm.

The closest thing we have to a communist party is really Jim Andertons progerssive coalition while the greens are next closest. Labour hasnt been close to communist since the 1920's. Don Brash is soo not a liberal, have you not read his policies on immigration, crime etc. I cant believe you would trust him to lead a conga line, let alone a country.

There aren't any real "Communist" countries on our planet. We have Socialist countries. Communism is a term used to describe a system where the government has fallen out of place and the people go about their lives doing Communist things (should I be capitalising the word "communist"?) with nobody telling them to do it. Or so they taught me in Social Studies.

Parties are silly. I'll just vote for the best candiate, case-by-case.
