I wish I was Italian... just like every non-Italian so wishes it...

This is the thread where we shall list the merits of Italy and Italians and bemoan our fate as non-Italians... and behold should an Italian visit this thread, we will be truly blessed...

I really wish I was Italian... :(

Not to be stereotypical, but the three groups of people most compatible in the world are:

Italians
Puerto Ricans
Koreans.

Why, you ask? Food. These are three groups of people who take their cooking and love of good food very seriously. A fiery-tempered italian and a loud-mouthed puerto rican can be in love forever. If one can cook and the other loves to eat. :)

I guess I am an anomaly, a French/Anglo-Saxon/German who does not wish to be Italian. I know some Italians to be sure, and I would rather not be Italian, I found France more interesting during my travels to Europe, though Italy is ahead of Spain and Germany for me. I wish I was Polish perhaps, or more French. Though I must say I prefer Northern Italy to the South, which is not something you say around someone from the South apparently.

I'm not directly Italian but am blessed with Italian heritage. I wish I was more Italian than I am becoz they are the greatest people who ever lived in all history.

Well, a lot of my Polish respect comes from their tenacity in WW2, when their homeland was occupied, much like my respect for the Belgians in the Great War. Forget a Division of French or Germans, if I have to go to war, I want Belgians, Poles, Czechs, and Finns with me. (And no, this has nothing to do with current politics, so no one try to say that).

but think about it, while the Poles had tenacity in WW2 they still lost and got invaded and in the end their tenacity came to not because the Germans were just so very much better and more advanced

To bad, sucker. I am half Italian. Half of that is from Sicily, a quarter from Central Italy, and the other quarter from the Valle d'Aosta.

Well, I was referring to Poles like the ones in the BoB (3% of the pilots, 15% of the kills), the 1st Polish Armoured, the II Polish Corps, the 1st Polish Airborne Brigade, the Home Army Rising.

Hmph have a thing for Italians?

I guess I do as well as I married a Sicilian. ;)
