I've changed my Nation's flag into Russian, and I'll keep Russian Flag for three days in memory of those children killed by terrorists in Beslan school. I invite everyone to do the same. We are not talking about politics or bullshit. This is not just terrorism anymore, this is horrorism. It's just horror without a name, mostly for the presence of women in that commando.

Even a culture that views beheadings, torture, and dismemberment as valid forms of punishment does not condone the murder of innocent children. There is absolutely nothing funny about this topic. CHILDREN DIED!!! People were tortured with extreme heat, denied food and water, denied even the basic necessity of relieving themselves. Then they were blown up. If you can find anything humorous in this, then you're as sick as those terrorists.

There is nothing condesending about focusing your thoughts and prayers on people who are in trouble. In our time of grief, millions of people did the same for us...and just knowing that we had that support helped a great deal. Also, in case you haven't noticed (or don't care, most likely) there are quite a few Russians in NS and I'm sure the shock and horror of this event has affected them much like 9/11 affected us. This wasn't an attack on just Russians...this was an attack on the free world. Nyet?

There is no mock pity here. How many of us cried at the loss of life? I have several times. Pompous? When we were attacked on 9/11 I don't think anyone felt that the show of support from Russia was pompous. It helped to know that someone was sharing our pain and was there to help us through it. And, again, I point out to you that there are Russians in NS...and if they are hurting and there is anything I can do to help...including monetarily...then I will be there for them to lean on.

I don't dispute at all your freedom to say everything you want, but i think there is a difference between freedom and arbitrary. You can be arbitrary too. my right to tell you i disagree because it's from this kind of confusion that evil can creep in our lives. it's not about beliefs, it's just a philosophical tought.

OK, we get it...you think that people pulling together to support and help each other is funny. Fine! We feel that if our show of support can encourage even one person, then we have accomplished something worthwhile. Get over it. We also are so horrified and sickened by this atrocity that we cannot abide cynical people and their warped humor. Your lol post was tasteless, inflammatory, and totally uncalled for. You are not the moral police. Try to get over that, too.

Now, as this is meant to be a thread to build support for our Russian brothers and sisters, I suggest that we limit our comments to that goal.

Sgurtzlandia ....why don't you start a thread that states the idea of people changing their flag to the Russian flag in its title? Maybe make it a marathon to see how many nations we can get to do that? It was your idea and it's a good one. Run with it!

This disgusting act of terrorism is another reason why I'm losing faith in humanity. My condolences to the families who have lost loved ones in this sickening tragedy. The Chechen cause will not be aided by these horrible acts.

The death toll is around 350 at the moment. It keeps getting worse.

Combine this tragedy with the other terrorist attacks during the last week and I'd say Russia has experienced its own 9/11.
