On Fox News Live they were showing footage of this guy that is stranded out in his sailboat off-shore. Things really aren't looking good for him.

I believe that this is what is called a "self correcting error". He's obviously too stupid to live and probably won't.

What an idiot. Even though he's in an intracoastal waterway, the waters are still very rough. His best chance would've probably to try and go near a shore, then jump ship and swim to safety. Forget about the boat.

The reporter that was on the scene knew something about boating and said that the worst thing the guy could do it jump out into the water. The man anchored his boat and the reporter said that that was all that he could really do. It was really stupid of him to go out boating when he knew a hurricane was coming, but I still hope he lives, even though he probably won't.

I find it sick just how much some people here seem to enjoy pointing and laughing at others who are suffering.

Yes, sometimes people do stupid things, sometimes even stupid things that get them killed.

But let me ask this...have you never done stupid and possibly dangerous things in YOUR life? I don't care how smart you think you are--you never know if someday you might get yourself into a situation on your own failure to think. Maybe it won't be THIS one, but it could be something else.

Think about THAT before you laugh.

1: One must live continually in a cardboard box with no contact with the outside world to be as ignorant to go boating during the start of a hurricane.
2: Why didn't the ppl from Fox bother to fly back, get a rope, and rescue the guy.... :(

1. ditto
2. FOX wasn't flying. They had Geraldo on the beach trying to stay upright in the wind. No one is flying down there right now.

I have done stupid and dangerous things on a semi-regular basis throughout my life. People laughed. I'm okay with that. :)

But if they laughed as you were suffering or dying? That might feel a bit different...

Suffering? no.

Dying? DOn't know. Even if it did, by the time I have something to say on the issue, nobody would hear me. :p

totally unrelated story: This trucker was awarded a medal or something for having 1 000 000 miles of safe, accident and ticket free driving. 1 000 000 miles!!!

so, on the way to his awards banquet, he jacknifes his truck and dies. :D:D:D

I heard from there later that there was no one on the boat. The boat was tied to a dock, and the mooring rope was extremely long. However, no one was aboard the boat.

Did Geraldo go to see if Al Capone stashed his loot there?

I heard that there wasn't anyone on the boat, so, all is well. At least we know that no one in America is that stupid.

I may like FOX...but I HATE Geraldo. I didn't like him in the first place, and once he drew that map in the sand on worldwide TV, any last shreds of credibility he may have had with me crashed and burned. If I see that man on, I change the channel. GAH.
