Making a guest appearance in General...Sdaeriji!

I'm always in search of good bands. The only problem is, there aren't many outlets out there to get exposed to new bands, even on a college campus like the one I live on. MTV and the radio don't even begin to play good music 95% of the time anymore, and when they do get a good song, like that Franz Ferdinand song, they overplay it so badly that I learn to despise it.

Then I realized, "Hey, there are people all across the planet on these forums! At least some of them must know some good bands I've never heard of. Let's ask them!" So that's what I propose. I'm in serious need of some new music. Everyone post a good band that is fairly unknown, and a good album by said band. That way we can all benefit from our combined musical knowledge. I'll start, mmk?

Rilo Kiley - "The Execution of All Things"

(disclaimer - I know that this thread's been done before, I'm doing it again. And please no one come in here and brag about how all the music people are listing is mainstream just so you can stroke your own ego. I don't need that. Thanks!)

Franz Ferdinand?

Yeah. They were some Scottish or British band or something that no one had really heard of, and the American music juggernaut got a hold of a catchy tune they made and proceeded to play it to death.

Muse? The Rasmus?

Well post the name of one of their CDs or something. And why with the question marks?

Steely Dan, a '70s rock group.
