What Republicans need to win

We need a victim complex. I admire the one the Democrats have always had, even when it was imaginary. The government, big business, and the media don't care for the people and the candidate is the only way to solve this. It also has made the Democrats the party of protest.
On the righthand side, we don't have one, even when we are discredited. No one recognizes the merits of key GOP policies like tax cuts, or proactive foreign policy, so much as they recognize the merits of key Democratic concepts like government controlled healthcare, or a welfare state. The evangelicals are the only GOP sector that has this. Even for those that don't agree with them, abortion and gay marraige are being debated. If a protesting lobby for these groups never existed, abortion would just be something you wished your daughter didn't do, not something to be hotly debated. We need to expand that to all of the GOP sectors. We must protest on behalf of tax cuts, our foreign policy beliefs, our military beliefs, and others. We need a victim complex, and we need one now!

We need something big, something good, or something. But I think we are in pretty good shape now.

I'm a political pessimist. I'm supposed to pick us apart, so we can be better. Think of people like me as a political equivilant of a drill sergeant.

ahh ok.

Let the repubs win so we can have complainers?

My insurence hike for my family doubled so it just about wipes out my tax cut.

Abortion is still underattack and a couple more Chistian puppet administrations will see it's end as good arch-conservative justices are placed in the courts.

How long would we see 401Ks last as a republicans would suggest that you can take care of yourself and don't need matching contributions.

Why should big business pay for insurence?

Maybe I am tired but I really don't see where you are going with this....

I'm saying Republicans must be like Democrats: feel that they are the oppressed victim, no matter what happens.

Ahh ok

If the Demos already have the victim complex, how are the repubs going to get one if they win? ;)

What, this hasn't been happening?

"Waaaaaahh!!!!! We're being criticised!!!!!!!!! That must mean you love terrorists!!!!!!!!!!"

"Waaaaaaaaaaahhh!!!!!! Everything is biased against us; tv, print, movies, facts(last bit stolen from a Daily Show bit)....."

etc.
You guys seem to be playing victim pretty well.

Easy. Say that Bush is the champion against an institution willing to destroy conservatives. Teddy Roosevelt portrayed himself as a champion of labor against the big mean industrialists (but truthfully, those industrialists weren't all that worker friendly).

Like I said, some of us play the victim, but we haven't been acting on it. Where are our major protesting groups? Where are people like Ayn Rand, who say that Big Business is an oppressed minority?

The republicans have what they need to win.Yet Bush doesnt seem to have it. Its a little thing called intelligence. Instead of getting the real Bush supporters(right wing christian nutcases) on stage at the RNC, they got Arnold and other republicans who are closer to the center and arent on the extreme right. The republicans will win though, simply because of the weakness of the democratic candidate. As a libertarian i dislike both of them and dont have a formal position on it.But based on intelligence, I would give my vote to the republicans.

The bad news, however, is that Joe Average voter doesn't give a damn about intelligence. Therefore, some manipulation of the party is needed. If we want to win, we try to beat our opponet at his own game. College conservatives are doing this already. They have liberatarian speakers that are black, and from what I read once in TIME magazine, the college wouldn't fund them. So the college students accused them of double standards, and bias in thought.

The only party I would ever vote for is the Libertarian party. The Republicans are horrible in terms of social aspects and the democrats are in terms of economical aspects. All of them are crooks...

No one is a crook. If they were, than 95% of the population hate themselves. They don't.
