Pat Buchanan and Bush

My Representation

I was reading today about how Pat Buchanan had made a speech in 1992, which they think scared a lot of swing voters off to the Democrats. It seems to me that George W. Bush is actually more right-wing than Buchanan. This is strange, because people still think of Buchanan as a maverick, but I can't think of anything that he's to the right of Bush on. Although I disagree with him, I have always had more admiration for Buchanan than the other "Christian" radicals, as he does seem to be more honest than most of them. I think he is cleverer than Bush as well.

Bush is more of a fundie, which is why I would have voted for Buchanan.

Buchannan, as he's more of an America-first isolationist. He reminds me more of Charles Lindburgh than Ronald Reagan.

Remember, politics is about perception, far more than it is based on fact.

Fact is, Bush is simply more popular than Pat, hands down. It has nothing to do with ideas, its simple likeability and charisma. Let me remind you of the Nixon-Kennedy debates of old.
