except dynamite.
They disposed of plenty of that.
The best part was the car that got ruined by falling pieces of whale blubber.
You cant make up that kind of irony!

Haha, you're a riot.
You know what this reminds me of, for no other reason than that it involves a whale? That episode of Seinfeld where George has to save the whale because Kramer hit a golf ball into its blowhole. That was a good episode.
Couldn't they have used the whales body for something more...productive?

feed ´some pigs with it or something. Instead they just blew it up, which, of course only spread the body over a larger area.
Smart.

LMAO
How stupid are these people? We had a washed up whale a few weeks ago. What you do with it is cut it into pieces, transport it to somewhere secluded and burn it. How on EARTH did someone get the idea of blowing it up. Jeez...
And I've seen a picture once of a whale that was washed up in Japan. The loaded the whole thing onto a trailer to burn it somewhere else. But since rotting carcasses have a lot of gas in them, the repeated shocks of it being transported made it blow up in the middle of the street, spreading blubber all over the place. And one Jap was looking disgusted at it's moped which was covered with whale guts. That was so funny.
Ooh... I found the pic http://www.smh.com.au/ffxImage/urlpicture_id_1075340790086_2004/01/29/400whale.jpg

When dead whales and sea lions would wash ashore nab coronado next to the Del Coronado hotel we would dig a hole and push them in with a d7 dozer. The blade would stink for weeks

Actually, that was how whaling was done in the forties and fifties: have factory ships shoot explosives into a whale, and it'd detonate within one of their blood vessels. Then they could snag them, and process the whale on the ship.
