I just found out that New York has the largest population of Jews in the world. Second is Montgomery County, Maryland (where I live), and third is Israel. I know it may be difficult to believe but it's true. Sorry, I don't have a source.

Dude... no. About a year ago, Israel was tallied as having just over 6 million Jews, whereas the US was tallied as having slightly less. And those figures were including the entire American Jewish population. It's mathematically impossible for New York to have more Jews than Israel.
There's a reason you don't have a source- it isn't true.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that it isn't true. I heard that my town here in Scotland has the third largest population of Jews in the world, with Israel being first, London second and my area third. It could be that's only europe though, I can't remember where I heard it.

Looks like we're both wrong.
Top ten countries by jewish population, in no order:
Argentina
Brazil
Canada
France
Israel
Russia
South Africa
Ukraine
United Kingdom
United States
Within the US:
Rank State Percent Number
1 New York 9.10 1,654,000
2 New Jersey 5.50 436,000
3 Florida 4.60 641,000
4 Washington, D.C. 4.50 2,000
5 Massachusetts 4.40 268,000
6 Maryland 4.20 211,000
7 Connecticut 3.00 97,000
8 California 2.90 922,000
9 Pennsylvania 2.70 330,000
10 Illinois 2.30 268,000
I htink it's unlikely that my town has a population to rival Marylands, however it may be that we have one of the largest % of Jews in the World.
Edit: My town is Gifnock, if anyone can help me out. It'll bug me all day unless i can deduce the truth.
I saw something once about New York having more Jews than Tel Aviv, more blacks than some obscure city in an African nation I can't recall in my sleep-deprived state, more Italians than Rome, etc.
Believing that Yahweh is the one and only god makes someone a Jew, so Christians and Muslims are also Jews. Argumenting against Judaism from a christian or muslim point of view is brainless.
So you're all trusting statistics afterall?
That's great.

Anyone was argumenting against something?
Anyone was argumenting against something?
Annaris said something about "too many jews"... I would consider that as being "against" something.
Okay. But, Rhode Island has the largest precentige of Catholics in USA.
Yep, scary isn't it?
To me it's more scary that the US has so many deeply religious people overall, who put something they believe to know about over real knowledge. There are not many US-Americans I know who could tell me the difference between Elohim and Yahweh and the history of those deities (who have been combined into one) through ancient times.

Just rename New York to New Jerusalem :)
Dalradia, what's the source for those stats?
A link I found gives us some specific data, although it's somewhat outdated.

As I said, one development that happened relatively recently is the anouncement of a survey that purported that there were more Jews in Israel than America. This survey continues to be debated, however.

Believing that Yahweh is the one and only god makes someone a Jew
There's a lot more to being a Jew than just that. Considering the large numbers of Jewish Atheists, one must conclude that being Jewish has little or nothing to do with religion.
