Would you give 10% of your income to a fund for foreign aid for Africa? I wouldn't because I'm for ending all foreign aid to everyone. Why should my taxes dollars go to some useless African who to lazy or stupid to feed himself/herself.

Depends on the type of aid

Am all for helping people get on their feet but they have to make the effort to keep on standing


As for personal donation Defiantly would if I had even a dollars worth of leeway (I am in college … even working 70 + hrs a week I get to the point in the middle of the year where I do not have enough money to eat more then every other day) lol

My tax dollars already fund a bunch of lazy ass Canucks who prefer to rot on welfare! I do NOT need to fund any more free loaders! Yes...believe it or not, I'm a liberal and I voted for NDP.

Maybe if you understood the political dynamics of much of africa you would understand that it isnt due to laziness or stupidity that they are starving, but normally because of corrupt governments and warlords that they have no democratic control over.

I am an isolationist and also beleive in cutting ALL govt. foreign aid. It should come from charitable organizations that you donate to voluntarily.

The average African farmer works about 80 or so hours per week. Can you say the same? If not, then get off your Randian high horse and stop pretending that American wealth is based solely upon American work ethic.

One of the biggest reasons why Africans are starving isn't because there isn't enough arable land, or because Africans are lazy, or because Africans lack the equipment to feed their population, but because their governments have been given money in the past by the World Bank, and that same World Bank is currently pulling an Amoullo Diallo on them by threatening to make them pay the entire outstanding balance (which those countries cannot), cut off all funding (which would collapse their economy), or make them pay back their loans at an absolutely brutal pace. In order to make their payments to the westernized World Bank, African governments have forced their farmers to produce cash crops instead of food crops (which again, overwhelmingly benefits the Western countries who buy them). What money the farmers get back is not sufficient to buy food crops from the U.S. or Europe, not because there isn't enough food to go around, but because unlike African nations, which have been forced by the World Bank to dismantle their welfare and subsidization systems, the U.S. and Europe have some of the most highly subsidized agriculture in the world, and that subsidization drives down world prices to such a low level that African nations could never hope to both compete and receive living wages.

Basically, the main reason for African starvation and poverty is because the West has simply traded one system of colonialism for another, and to do it, they've created the World Bank, which is basically a combination of payday loan place/slash mob enforcer, in that they charge rates that will perpetually keep African nations in debt, and kneecaps get smashed if Africa ever decided it had had enough and wouldn't pay any more.

It's very simple. If all the food produced in the world would be devided equaly, everyone would have about 2 kilos every day. However, we in the civilized western world like to trow away our food somehow or feed it to the pigs.

But, you can send them money, you can send them food but it won't work. Send them some people to build a water pit and teach them how to grow food. And nuke the pope and give them some condoms, otherwise there won't be any people left to grow food at all.

It is God's will that these people die. It is a test to see how we will react from our Lord.
He wants us to realise that we cannot save everyone on this earth!

I'm sorry. I am compassionate, just indifferent to the death and suffering of the Conservative population. I know that sounds bad, but my politics are pretty revolutionary. What has to be realized is that not everyone can recieve compassion and equal treatment. We just have to decide who deserves to suffer and who deserves life. I say that Businessmen and Conservatives should have to suffer. They would say that the working-class and africans should have to suffer. As always, no system is fair to everyone, it is just a matter of deciding who it should be fair to.
