"Thanks for the clarification Parrotmania. I've been saying he was on the ballot but somehow, I was getting ignored."

I know you did, Corneliu. I applaud your effort. Perhaps my post will be ignored too.
its because no one cares what corneliu says, he is ignorant and, for lack of a better word, stupid. he refuses to listen to logic or reasin and just sits around talking about how right he is no matter how wrong he actually is

PS-Did you get hit by the ugly train and then were dragged underneath?
yeah, well when you fell out of the ugly tree, you hit every branch on the way down before finally landing in a big pile of ugly leaves.

You want to check the hamster at the controls in your head mate. The wheel may be turning but I think the hamster's dead!

Do you have proof that he appealed to the Supreme Court? Is it the Alabama Supreme Court or SCOTUS? I've not heard anything to this affect so please do you have proof?
If you read my post carefully, you would see that I said "IF they have to appeal". that's "IF".

I do admit when I'm wrong Chess Squares. Thanks for the insult though. Is that all you do? Insult people with different opinions than you? That is all you've done. Insult people that have differing opinions. Please stop it because it makes you unintelligent.

I apologize. I took out of context. For this I'm sorry.

Back to the original subject,

Ben Barnes:

"As of last week, according to information received by CBS News, 20 donors have given and/or raised more than $250,000, enough to earn them the designation of Trustee. Of those, eight have actually raised more than $500K. Those half-millions include Texas lobbyist Ben Barnes, Wall Street financier Stan Shuman, Iranian American PAC Board of Trustees member Hassan Nemazee and Texas lawyer Mark Iola. Eventually, says a source inside the process, the over-$500K raisers will have a special name designation but no moniker has been chosen yet."http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/06/18/politics/main624711.shtml

"Five years ago, Barnes found himself at the center of questions about Bush's Vietnam-era service when the then-Texas governor emerged as the Republican presidential front-runner.
At that time, Barnes' lawyer issued a statement saying Barnes had been contacted by the now-deceased Sidney Adger, a Houston oilman and friend of Bush's father, who was then a congressman. Adger asked Barnes to recommend Bush for a pilot position with the Air National Guard and he did, that statement said.
"Neither Congressman Bush nor any other member of the Bush family asked Barnes' help," according to the 1999 statement."

President Bush and his father have denied any knowledge of anyone helping GW get into the National Gaurd.

This comes as a surprise to you? Did you expect them to admit it? *LOL*

I thought he worked for the Kerry campaign or something.

Edit : Which would confirm that he's a democrat, plus some anti-Bushness.

Barnes is not only a Democrat, he contributed over $500,000 to the Kerry campaign. The statement from Barnes through his attorney in 1999, stated that neither Bush, nor any member of his family asked for his help.

No point though I don't think the Swiftees donated money to the RNC whereas this guy contributed 500,000 USD to Kerry's campaign.

Not the dudes who are part of SBVFT. All of their funding is also coming straight from Karl Rove's closet friends and Bush contributors.

Although in fairness, at one time, I believe 1996 the Elliot guy who was the commander did campaign with Kerry and stated he was a war hero.. guess he changed his party and mind ;)

You are right about the large donors being Republican. The swiftboaters had an internet site with their story and they were asking for donations. Their story was too juicy for Repub donors to resist. However over 10,000 people gave smaller donations. This greatly contrasts with Ben Barnes giving $500,000 directly to the Kerry campaign.

Are you trying to imply 1) that if you donate money to a campaign it makes you a liar? and 2) That Bush doesn't have just as many surrogates out there giving him just as much money?

Oh I'm sure they are! However, they are not going on national television. This guy is and is a Kerry Supporter and has said that neither Bush, nor any member of his family asked for his help to get GWB into the national guard.

Well if he's being untruthful I have no doubt he will be exposed as a liar the same way the swift boat vet guys were about Kerry's metals. The press have lots of ways of finding out the truth as the swift boat vets against Kerry found out real fast.. I wouldn't worry about it. If he's lying, it will come out.

Draw your own conclusions to whether the swifties or Barnes are telling the truth. I never called either them liars. The Barnes news was hashed over in 1999 before the last Presidental election, when he said that neither GW nor his family asked for his help. If he has something new to say, we will see what becomes of it.

That's a fair way to go about it.
