It means my parents were together for a while and then it hurt even more when they broke up and I mostly only got to see one of them most of the time. It's the same for straight or gays..it's not the fact that I was raised by only one parent that made life more difficult, it was the fact that there was something important there and then it was removed. Having two gay parents that loved each other would have been better for me psycholocially than having a straight couple that broke up technically.
