Does anyone know what Halliburton actually is? Yes, I already know, I am just trying to elicit some responses.

They're largely an oil field supply company. They were once headed by current VP Dick Cheney and are doing a lot of the work in the "rebuilding" of Iraq, that is, when they're not making money from no-bid contracts disappear and not accounting for it. They also, through subsidiaries, do business with countries that are currently forbidden to US companies because they are considered state sponsors of terrorism, including Iran, Syria, North Korea, and before the war, Iraq.

Let's see - they are a contracting company that our VP served on the Executive Board on, they've violated sancitons if I'm not wrong, and these two links provide more handy info:

Wait, let me remember, who gave Halliburton the no-bid contract to work for the US military? Oh yeah, that bastard Bill Clinton, now I remember!

Halliburton is THE company to do almost anything you want done in in a country's infrastructure.

They have the best reputation world-wide for integrity and the capability of handling ANY project given them

Through subsidiaries, they can accomplish almost anything, anywhere.

Unlike the partisan spew going on, Halliburton has an excellent reputation for both work being done, and financial management. Halliburton is qualified for "no bid" emergency contracts because they maintain the financial controls that allow them to provide the audit trail and ultimate account for charges and work accomplished.

Because Halliburton is often and can be awarded contracts on a trust basis, it's easy to exploit this for partisan politics. But Halliburton has been a contractor for many decades, and will be for many more. There is no corruption, no theft, and no graft. Halliburton could not afford to do such, as it is thier stellar reputation that has earned them contracts world-wide.

Gotta keep those profits up so that Cheney will be able to maximize his 433,000 shares of stock "option", when he retires this year.

I guarantee you that--if this is true, and you've hardly proven it--it's nowhere near the size of the postwar Iraq contracts. So unless you've got something more than smartass comments, I suggest you shove it.
