Gross Indecency

Recently Louisiana State Representive Derrick Shepherd proposed a law that would ban men & women from wearing low-slung that show off their underpants claiming that its "gross indecency".

Is it really indecent?

Is it cool?

Do we really need to see your underpants?

And do you think I could make a humerous issue out of it?

sometimes pants are cool, but my banana and chocolate pair of y fronts are not

I have no argument with low-slung trousers - but decency laws should be implemented upon eleven-year-olds dressing like tarts.

True, I used to wear em all the time but I kinda overloaded them and they fell down when I was running after sum1 NOT a good idea.

I agree. Pants hanging down so far that 1/2 of your underwear can be seen: that is INDECENT.
Also, these 'pre-teens' and teenaged girls (under 18) running around dressed like hookers: that is INDECENT
If a woman or a under 18 girl is dressed like and has the " 'tude" of a slut;
then I will treat them as one.

I dont wanna hear screams of "sexual Harassment" if they're gonna dress & act like that...

THEN BE PREPARED TO SUFFER THE ATTENTION AND CONSEQUENCES.

I live in Louisiana. I was raised here. I think that law stupid and I'm glad it got laughed out of the state capitol. We're the poorest, most illiterate, least healthy, shortest lived, most corrupt, most unemployed, and least educated damned state in the union and all this 'tard state legislator can think to address is whether or not some teenager's thong is showing.

There are far more important matters to address and issues that won't eat into police man-hours. Most city and sheriff departments are already overstretched as it is. Did I mention Louisiana also had some of the highest crime rates in the country? I only wish I lived in his district so I could not vote for him again.

Is it really indecent?"

That depends on the judge of indecency. Unfortunately for that State Rep, he is not allowed to set the decency standards for the state. He may not like it, but any legislation he attempted to pass forbidding it would ultimately fail.

Is it cool?

In my opinion? No. Well, if the girl is hot, that's kind of cool.

Do we really need to see your underpants?

Need? If I don't see them, am I going to die? No. Does it really make a difference to my life if I do see them? No.

And do you think I could make a humerous issue out of it?

I have no idea.

This is a basic issue of freedom of expression

kids should be allowed to wear what they want

its up to parents to explain why some things may be inappropriate and it is up to society to try and resist the major media onslaught that attempts to make kids do things a certain way (and is normally quite successful)

Yeah I see it as just another demonstration of the elder controlling generation trying to set laws for things they see their kids doing.

Every generation has done this … everything from attempts to block various types of music to social activities

Inevitably their efforts fail in the long run (if they ever get passed to start with) It will blow over and everyone will remember the retard that tried to put temporary social mores into law.

I mean back In the day he would have been one of the dudes trying to ban skirts above knee length :) they have them in every society … and we have to live with them (if we let people like him succeed frequently we would women wouldn’t be allowed to wear bathing suits or any of the other cool outfits girls wear these days :) )

See I look at it this way, if the girls pants are showing and she knows they are and she does nothing about them that is indecent, however if a girl isn't aware that they are, that it isn't. I grow tired of seeing people who wear trousers around there knees and their underwear under their armpits, for crying out loud my grandad does this, and just because you're in a thong doesn't make it ok. It makes them look slutty and whorish, wich ok some people get their kicks out of it, but frankly I don't like to see it.

so because you dont like it, there should be legislation passed against it?

isnt that fascist?

You know, at the junior high school level, a ban on lowriders would be self enforcing without legislation...because the same punk-arse twits who normally snap girls' bra straps will just start snapping thong waistbands.

Well what if I don’t like seeing people fully dressed … is that alright … or is it not because it is not the “accepted” decency point of view?

too bad this law couldn't just apply to those people whose wearing anything revealing really is indecent. if hot girls want to let their thongs hang out, that's alright with me. but if your body shape really defies displaying any skin, im sorry, but trying to flaunt that should land you in jail.

So was he … expressing his take on what it would mean to censor people on that level

Now as for the “Nobody” (now don’t take this in the personal … I.E. me) but there could be SOME people that want to see that

Its not necessarily what you like from your viewpoint. But the statement NOBODY really is not true

I know my point of view doesn't reflect the majority but I don't beleive the world will be a better place if people show there backside and underclothes in public, and feel free to list people who like looking at geriatric wrinkly totty.

And I don’t believe covering it will make the world any better place … but Im not the one asking people to change :) (or having a viewpoint that wants people to change)
And do I REALLY have to list people … honestly with all the fetishes out there … I am sure I could hunt down some links but I don’t feel like getting in trouble today :)

Superman wouldn't be allowed into Louisiana then if this gets passed. Have they considered that. Lex Luthor would have a perfect place to perfect his plans for World domination. Meanwhile Superman's at the border and a cop is telling "Sorry son, we can't hav' yew cumin' in wearin' those."

On another note, it should be banned for really fat and/or flabby people. Cause a fat person wearing low-cuts is just wierd. I mean don't they know they're fat? And don't they know that a fat person's midriff or be-thonged ass is just not sexy.

And who would be the judge of who is “too fat”

Or would we leave it up to the officer’s personal tastes?

What would be the criteria … I mean you will probably say “it is obvious … yuck” but what about the borderline cases?

Will all cop cars have to come equipped with scales to make sure someone doesn’t weigh too much?

The only thing indecent about it is when the low-slunger weighs 300 lbs, and has a bigger plumbers-crack than my old man.
