Well, im in one of 2 of its direct paths. If it heads north of Ft. Lauderdale, im good, if it heads the way the US Navy thinks it will head, Then im gonna need to....leave...

All predictions I've seen have it hitting the US.

As of right now, it is a Category 4 Hurricane. Frankly, I hope it doesn't hit Florida. They are still recovering from Charles or whatever his name was. LOL!! Another storm would be devestating.

Know how that goes. I was in Florida for training, and our base got hit both by Bonnie, and the edge of Charlie.

If it hits North Carolina, then it goes up to the Northeast. Good news for Florida, but bad news for us.

Here in Connecticut, we're very lucky. Just below Long Island is a cold water current that takes a lot of punch out of hurricanes. Then there's Long Island. Hurricane Gloria, one of the worst in recent memory was downgrated from a Category 5, 24 hours before it hit to a low Category 2 by the time it did.

Good thing. Gloria did enough.
