The Detroit Pistons should have been our dream team this year, their D is better then anything i saw in the Olympics and they would actually play good together. US should just send NBA Champs to the Olympics

Yeah, or they could have chosen a team that had an outside shooter or two.

Its not up to the US, its up to the players.

But what the US should have done was not try to get the most popular players in the sport that were willing to go, but put together the best team available. This team should have consisted of (a starting five of) one big man underneath. Tim Duncan was a perfect choice for it. One, maybe two slashers, Iverson was a good choice for this. Then two or three shooters. Micheal Redd would have been good, for this, and Im not too sure about the other, dont really follow NBA much.

But instead what they took was a bunch of young players who were mostly post up players. Therefore, when they got down in games, they had a hard time getting to the basket because almost every team has learned that the US loves to get to the hoop, so they stay inside. Plus the growing number of NBA players from different countries didnt help a thing either.

That's what I kept telling everyone. This "dream team" looked like the Lakers.

Another thing, they need to practice the Olympic rules better. Every time I watched, which was very little because I watch the Olympics to see sports and athletes and all, the USA players kept getting called for a "charge" in the key, which in the NBA isn't a foul. Small rule change, but makes it a big difference in style. Think of the difference if all the defense in soccer were able to use their hands inside the goal box.

By the way, good job Puerto Rico! Someone told me, "It's like the 51st state beat all the other 50 states combined."

Also Argentina. One last thing, USA World Cup 2006.

I wish i could have watched Ben Wallace battle against those foreign players and see how they do against and NBA player who actually plays hard.

We could have sent any NBA team over there and they would have won the gold.
