Did you see how those people protesting Bush and the Republican Convention started burning some sort of float or cart or something?
what people are afraid of is cops and CIA agents disguizing themselves as fake protesters and provoking violence at the demos to aid Bush

Yeah, on top of that, there's clearly a HUGE government conspiracy, soon all democrats will slowly disappear one by one, and the government will claim they never existed, while they are secretly being tortured and killed in a small island somewhere. Then, we're going to have CIA agents dressing up as civilians in our everyday streets, ALWAYS WATCHING US.
Your ideas are ridiculous, face it.

You know.. sometimes I think you try to think of the most ridiculous position possible, and go even further.
Other times, I think you're the worlds best case study for paranoid schizophrenia.
Cant make up my mind which tho.

I can understand wanting someone out of office.. I can understand wanting someone to stand trial for crimes, if you believe they commited them. I can understand a lot of things negatively said about someone.
What I cant understand is how you can justify a statement like that? You want someone assassinated? To me, that's bordering on evil itself.

I agree. Remember, if Bush dies, Dick Cheney becomes president. Cheney actually is evil.

Somehow, all I'm hearing is "I already know the Democratic protesters are going to be violent, so here's my excuse ahead of time."
97.5% of all protest violence is instigated by the cops themselves whether in uniform or outside of uniform posing as protesters-in NYC those figures are prly closer to 110%
There have been no reports of violence.
not yet at least but republicans are thirsting for it so they can use it to scapegoat Kerry with. Its almost a certainty that Bush supporters will instigate something no doubt--they would also have to do it undercover too so it can be blamed on the protesters themselves because images of uniformed cops beating peaceful protesters would expose republicans as being the facist pigs that they are

Yes they do, but you'd think they'd at least get their url correct. It's kind of important.

I don't know where he heard it... but I've seen it happen first-hand, on a number of occasions. Some friends of mine just won a law-suit against the police in Miami for planting provocateurs... the evidence was so well-documented, it was ridiculous.
Anyway, it does happen. You see a couple of big beefy guys -- and although I try to avoid stereotyping, this isn't your average protestor. They don't really talk to anyone... and suddenly one of them throws a brick, or takes a swing at the cops. The cops attack en masse, a lot of people get beaten and/or arrested... but if you look around, you notice the original attacker skulking away -- sometimes even removing his disguise and jumping the police barricades to meet up with his friends!
Ridiculous, perhaps. But true nevertheless.
On the other hand, I didn't see any of this in New York today... didn't witness the burning mentioned here (although if you're talking about a giant shopping cart, I did notice it on the march route, unscorched)... but there were a LOT of people there, so I guess I missed a lot.

I didn't say there were. Heck, I didn't even say I expected there to be. MKULTRA seems to expect violence though; why else would he be giving us a pre-emptive excuse?

Granted, it happens, just like various other forms of entrapment. Suggesting that it will happen at the convention as part of an organized conspiracy to keep Bush in power, however, is more than a little over the top, and making such accusations before anything even happens is pure CYA bull hockey.

Oh, if it happened I would never think it's part of some "re-elect Bush" conspiracy. Rather, it's just business-as-usual for the police of a major city. It's just "how they deal with demonstrations"... and I'm not even sure most of them consider why that is.
Naturally, there are forces in the power structure that tend to push the police toward this tactic. But these, in general, have little to do with Bush himself. It just so happens that Bush personally also stands to gain from a tactic that discredits these particular demonstrators.

Oddly enough, the man showed a human side recently. Said he doesn't support the anti-gay marriage amendment, probably because his daughter is a lesbian. Good man.
[B]Note to all:[\B] Please, please, [I]please[\I] don't turn this into a gay-marriage discussion. Start another thread if you must.
