His Majesty's Government I hope, not to say I'm tiring of QE II, but if you're not going to get rid of it, spice it up some.

In 10 years - the same as it is now i.e. Centrist with a slight leaning to the right.

New Labour is hardly left, its nearly as Conservative as the Conservative party. Hence why they will probably get re-elected.

Democratic socialist, but with more free market economics.

Judging by the results of this thread: http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=6901695 (Just advertise my own thread a little :D )

And the fact that NationStates forum probably is (on average) a lot younger than the national average age we're more likely going to see a polarisation of British Politics, with both the BNP and Lib Dems as well as a host of other smaller parties take huge chunks out of the traditional Labour-Tory vote bloc. This may in turn lead to a change in the electoral system, seen as it is becoming increasingly unlikely for one party to gain a majority. Either that or a lot of useless coalition governments.

At this rate it'll probably be run by the US.

I seriously hope not, but I'd rather that than become a state of the "United States of Europe".

Hmmm..yeah I can see your logic. You'd rather be a minion to the US then part of a union which your country can influence.

Well Labour'll most likely win the next election, then the next one, then maybe the libs/consll come back in

Well, no. I'd rather England, Scotland, Wales and Ulster each became states of the USA than States of Europe. But if it was a choice between a union with Europe or a puppet government owned by America then it'd be Europe.

EDIT: But I'd prefer complete independence. My original post made it sound like I actually want Britain to be part of the US. This is not the case, only its the best out of a bad bunch of options, in my opinion.

I fear that in ten years Britain will have a government of extreme conservatives. That's the way they seem to be heading.

It certainly seems that our current choice is like the American system, between far right and further right...
