It doesn't really matter though cause we won 100 medals. Woooo. Plus this was the goal of the US Olympic committee. We did win some great events though. The 100m sprint (finished 1,2,3) won Beach Volleyball, Softball, Womens Soccer, many Swimming events, and many, many more.

We lost in men's basketball because the likes of Shaq, Kevin Garnett, Rasheed Wallace ect. all turned down the U.S.O.C. to play ball. We should use college kids again, they want the gold more.

Looks like Russia was doing pretty decent in the last day or so. Yesterday they were about 20 medals behind, today they were only 11 back.

No, actually, the US media keeps reminding us how horrible we did in events we should have done better in.

Screw the medal count.

Congrats to all the athletes.

Call me anti-american but I view the Olympics for the sport and not nationalism.

I was happy to see the Moroccan win his two golds. I am happy to see countries when medals for the first time.

But that is just me.

Yes it is just you! It's not about being at the Olympics, it's about winning. No one remembers the losers. 2nd place is the first loser!! The olympics have always been about nationalism. Think back to the days of the ancient games.

Are you about to be shallow enough to say that some sports are "better" than others?

Watching a deserving winner win and be touched is far more moving than watching your country win again.

The woman's pole vault put tears in my eyes, just because I could imagine how pleased she must have been. I mean, my country didnt even show up there and yet, i was much more pleased by the fact she won and set a record. I mean, i feel xsorry for her future husband, sex must be really boring after you win an olypic gold and set a world record!
