Yes, but altogether, it is still hard to do.
Actually only 41 Presidents have done it... Bush is truly our 42nd President. And honestly, to say they've done it is rather arguable... if I remember my history correctly, we pissed quite a few people off in quite a few wars.
And ruined our foreign relations? We had 30 countries in our coalition... if that's not legitimate, most of our previous wars haven't been either... we only had NINE nations on our side in World War 2. :P

Having all of Eastern Europe on our side and having places like Iceland on our side is a little different...all the people on our side in WW2 were world powers...
And yea, sorry for the slip of bad math there...42-1=41, not 42 heh.

People on NS dont debate...they agree. Those that post anything positive about President Bush are wrong. Those that seek to add President to his name are evil, they would be Satan, or possibly some lesser demons of some sort, but religion is wrong as well. Those that capitolize President and Bush are also demons, possibly imps. They arent succubi though, becuase Clinton bought out Hell and they're all busy.

He is a man who nearly all of their efforts are devoted to crushing yet he is still supported by vast segments of the population, has a lot of power, might be that way for some time, and is a conservative. Um...as a conservative even I have to shudder at what you just said. Vast segments? The man is supported by two segments. 1) The super-religious right, the group that is singlehandedly destroying the Republican party and 2) The uneducated South/Mid-West demographic. Both groups are quite similiar, and largely overlapping, but are still, unfortunately, large.

I can smell fear. And I smell it here. Mr. Bush , despite all of the attacks hurled at him from the democrats, 12/13 privatly funded ads, and other individuals around the country every day, is in the strongest position of any republican since ronald reagan in 1984. You folks can put me down, attack me, tell me to shut up, or anything else, but it only goes to show how hysterical you are getting. The " hitler like anti-christ" is not going down in flames as so many of you would hope.

for a party being "single handedly destroyed" it is funny that they control the presidency, the senate, the congress, the supreme court, mayorships, governorships, and surpassed the democratic party in actual registration for the first time in 2002. that sounds like destruction to me.....not!
If by "vast" you mean 42% (of viewers of CNN, a right-wing channel), then yes.

Bush sells out the common man to cater to big business. Bush sells out our civil rights to cater to bible-thumping hillbillies. Bush sells out our freedom in exchange for "security". Bush sells out our service men and women to die in a useless blunder of a war (which was waged on a false premise) that has only served to make things from bad to worse. If it was for WMDs, why haven't we invaded N. Korea? If it was because Saddam was a tyant, why are we allied and do business with other tyrants?
There's that lying to the public. Violating international law. etc, etc.
Of course, he maintains popularity with the uneducated rednecks and bible-thumpers (who don't really know or understand what's going on in the world) by appealing to their emotions using religious faith and patriotism as propaganda.

For starters, Bush done away with over-time pay, which screws over workers so their employers can pocket some extra bucks.
And there's that whole banning gay marriage things, which is religion influencing legislation (ever heard of seperation of Church and State?)
The Iraqi war; well there was no trace of WMDS, and the "evidence" of such was faulty. We're closing in on 1000 troops dead, and for what? Oil? That whole nation is in chaos, and the war has provoked even more anti-american sentiment, which means more terrorists. It's a waste of tax money, rescourses, and human life.

So? I'm a libertarian. I didn't vote for Gore. I wasn't aware that to hate one, you had to like the other. I don't like any of the canidates for either the republicans or democrats. Politics are not simply black and white. You're trying to generalize and simply a complex system. Also, you don't have to like someone just because they happen to be part of a political slant that you share. Blind party loyality is retarded. If you're a republican, and a chimp was running under the republican ticket, would you vote for him just because he was in your party?

1.) Politics is for the most part, especially in the USA, black and white. There are 3rd parties, however, they're insignificant in the big picture.

Well, that depends on your personal/political views. Whatever they may be, I'm sure there's a 3rd party out there that's probably closer to them than either of the 2 major political parties.
Both the Republicans and Democrats embody views that I find abhorrent, so the elections come down to choosing the lesser of two evils.

The problem with this is that none of these parties will ever get any real power, so we end up having to either waste our vote or go for one of the major parties who we don't really agree with anyway. To make things even stupider, in America there is only two major parties to vote for so your choice is severly limited. You either have to go for Bush- the destroy the world/war president or Kerry who just pisses me off for some reason which i cant quite putr my finger on ,but then again- in Canada there are about five major parties which is pretty good, for them. We're supposed to be living in a society of more choice- thats why there are so many flavours of ice- cream- u can even get Fish flavoured ice cream in England. I've never tried it but i wouldnt mind force feeding it to Bush.

The alternative to two party systems is the simple. You don't vote for people, you vote for a party. If, let's just say, the Green Party gets 53% of the vote and the Republican Party gets 47%, then the Green Party gets 53% of Congress and the Republicans get 47% of congress. The Prime Minister goes to the party with the Majority.

Sadly though, that DOES reflect American politics. Ignorance and defeatism. The majority of Americans vote for one of two parties even though 55% of our population considers themselves independents or part of other parties. Third parties would have won several elections in the past if everyone votes sincerely. America uses a very outdated voting system called First Past the Post. While possibly not the worst system possible, it is a very old system which favors two parties and only two parties and discourages sincere voting - something nothing less than vital to a true democracy. Moral of the story - America needs an overhall.
