Get a Job

To any communist:

I will respect your opinion much more if you will get a job and still have an extremely communistic viewpoint after working for at least a year...

Maybe, just maybe, communists don't have jobs because capitalism doesn't have employment opportunities all the time. Some efficient market, huh?

But...... I'm also not a communist.

Where I work I have this one kid who keeps coming in (we get about 2 visitors a day, so you tend to notice people) to see all these objects we got from a local citizen, from the Eastern Front (there are several Mauser rounds, a few rounds for a Mosin-Nagant, and a picture of this man on a what he claims to be a T34 (you don't actually see what he is standing on)), he's a devout communist, but when I asked him if he would like to volunteer to help us out in getting ready for our "Town in Lights" festival he said he had other things to do, then promplty came into the place on that very night. When asked what he was doing, he said "nothing".... Gah, lazy communist!

No, they just can't get a job because they have no skills worth mentioning and would be a pain in the ass to work with because they'd rant all day about how they hate their job.

Why would you respect them more for (possibly, depending on the person) violating their own morality? Personally, I would deeply respect someone who denounced the capitalist system and then followed through with their words by living on the street. Denouncing a system and then contributing to it is spinelessness.

Why should people who do work support these people who choose not to? I couldn't care less what their political beliefs are.

Why should people who do work support these people who choose not to? I couldn't care less what their political beliefs are.Because no country has the potential for full employment under the current system. So there will always be some who are unemployed so as far as I'm concerned it might as well be those who want to be. I work, but that's because I've got a job I enjoy and that I think is ethically sound and socially useful. I don't think I'd be any less of a person if I didn't work.

(Can the capitalists on here mention whether they're employed or not in the interests of balance).

Thats such bullshit.
So I am supposed to starve on the streets because of my beliefs?
How am I supposed to buy guns for the revolution?
By working & saving up.

Okay if you're a communist, I will assume you are for the most common reason, that you believe in total distribution of wealth, that no one should have more than anyone else... (i.e, help the working class)

So... in that case... why don't you...

Open up your own company, hire a bunch of low payed minimum wage workers (or even better, homeless people), pay them alot more, and take the money out of your own pocket, so that YOU, the president, the one who worked so hard to build up the entire business empire, will be payed no more than the lowest employee in your company (i.e everybody in your company is payed the same)

Once you've created a company successfully running under communist ideals, come back and talk to me again and tell me that communism works great and is fair.

You're talking about setting up a Communist "COMPANY!"
in a Capitalist country, there is so much wrong with that argument I don't know where to start.
Lets talk about whats wrong with Capitalism.
Pop stars/Sportstars/celebrities etc...doing TV appeals for some Famine or disaster stricken country, asking Working class people to donate money with a straight face, whilst wearing jewellery worth several hundred thousand pounds,
then going back to one of several mansions in one of their several sports cars/luxury cars,
Whilst kids die of starvation and disease.

I lean towards Communism,I don't know about TOTAL distribution of wealth, there has to be some incentive for people to contribute, but maybe a ceiling on earnings/possesions.Some people have too much shit.I like nice things too. That's human nature, ever since a caveman picked up a shiny stone and kept it because it looked nice. But how much shit do you need? You see Rappers/Rock stars/Footballers spending a million on jewellery and they still buy more.Maybe some sort of Government Incentive scheme, based on your individual skills, contributions to society and achievements.

And of course, communism will cure all diseases and end all starvation?
As long as there are people, some of them will starve and be ill.
That's that.

I agree, therefore they should also accept no aid from the government until it gives aid to everyone equally. Which as long as people are working it wont do that. I actually hate seeing communist(wannabes),vote, work,, purchase goods from privitized industry.

That's backwards. If everyone had enough, why does it matter if someone has heaps more than anyone else? I don't begrudge Bill Gates his billions because I have enough. I think fundamentally a lot of "communists" in Western countries are just jealous of the wealth of others and want their stuff without relying on luck/hard work. I personally am a happy proponent of the moderated free market because I'm essentially satiated.
