People of the U.S: Please stop whining

Sinuhue

No, we don't all hate you. Is it really necessary to have the same thread over and over in order to soothe your wounded pride? You don't need to keep asking why people dislike the U.S. It has been explained enough, but I think the majority of people agree, it's the policies, not the people, of your nation that arouse the ire of so many. It's been debated, described and flogged into the ground. So, for those of you who still feel the need to be assured: I personally do not know you, nor do I hate you. Warm fuzzies all around.

Recinded, stamped on and shaved. Just for you.

No seriously...I just have to laugh when I read things like, "Everyone thinks that Americans are so ignorant. They all make assumptions about our government and they don't really know anything about it..." and then someone posts things like
If I lived in a socialist country (France or Canada)

I guess it's okay to make assumptions about everyone else, just not about the U.S.

No it isn't. You sing all the time.

Or parhaps that's what's wrong with our language? :p

But yes, we all hate americans (except for the individuals we actually know).
I'm an athreist and thanks to some religious organisations *cough Catholic church cough* the definition of "atheism" is "immorality". Since I'm an atheist I'm also forced to be immoral (no need to disprove the prejudices) and it's immoral to hate somebody you don't know (like homosexuals or the German people).

Of cause I'd also have to molest my unborn children... Damn this requires a lot.

I *WOULD* give a rat's ass, as they're rather cheap, for good will amongst friends,.. but only if I have a spare one lying around.

I *WILL NOT* go out and catch one for you, though.... Yuck.

We love you too.

Oh yeah, I'm so sorry.

Let me make it official:

Thank you for invading Vietnam and "liberating" the Vietnamese for the evil communism that undoubtly would have destroied the entire world. Of cause you had to murder John F. Kennedy, but hey, life goes on.

Was that the thank you were looking for? Or perhaps:

Thank you for "liberating" Afghanistand so we could build a pipeline and thank you for "liberating" Iraq (where some Iraqian made the nuclear bombs disappear with a magic wand) so you could kick start the oil production.

Humble enough?

I was just going to write an article in support of our cousins, when some spoilt little brat started opening his orifice (don't know which end .. could have been either, old boy!) and started talking through it with his "I don't care what you think, na-na-na ...." nonsense. Some Americans cause even America's allies and friends to want to punch them in the mouth just to stop the ignorant waffle they speak.

Let's bring it back. The U.S is pushing its culture down everyone's throats, but does not want any negative feedback. Many people in the U.S think that they are being 'bashed' all the time, and just want to be liked. Sensible? Possible?

I would have quoted it, but my computer would never hear of giving me what I want (having problems).

Although, I'd like to address that statement with:

1: Nationalism is for the birds. As is any system that forces one to comform to a certain identity in the failing hopes of those who wish to belong.
2: 'My People' are the voices in my head...they tell me to do things...bad things.
3: Trees need love too. I'm just the man to give it to them.
4: Monkeys fetch good prices in pet stores.
5: Sadism is for fun AND profit. :D
6: Narrow-Mindedness all depends on how you look at it. If me thinking that Bush and Kerry are really just siblings who despise eachother, that Gay and Religious Rights are granted to us not by constitution. But by sheer freedom of Spirit (which cannot be bound)...then I'll be damned, my mind's narrower than an Asian Schoolgirl's hips.

And the Chicken thing...I just use them as a smoke-screen for what I do to the Monkeys. :)

Back tot he Topic. I'm American, and I believe that we do, in fact, whine too much. 'We' as in everyone in the known world. Everyone gripes these days, not just one particular region.

Though I believe the reason many of these posts in query for Anti-Americanism (don't you love a word you can slap a great old ism on?) is spurd by the fact that there are a lot of NS Posters who complain about american politics. Most of those Posters also generalize Americans into their comments, by accident or by design. So of course, people get offended, hearts get broken...boo-boos are dealt.

The only thing I can say to it all is: Get over it, lick your wounds and move on. Anyone who picks on your particular nation, just ask them to stop. Don't bombard them with: "What do I care about your forsaken little Nation?! Mine's the BEST!" the only thing that does is lead to even more heart-ache...more boo-boos.

...and Boo-Boos are bad. ;)
