Which one do you like better? I have to pick SNL, and I know a lot of people will want to put down Chappelle's Show, but please just try to stick to these two. I just want to know what people prefer between these two shows, even if Mad TV or SNL isn't their favorite.

Like many people say, I think that SNL's old stuff is better than madtv but SNL's new stuff sucks.

That is because Tina Fey (sp?) is their new head writer. I still love SNL, even if it isn't as good as it used to be. I can still watch older episodes on E! anyway.

Both shows still suck sausages'. The SNL members who attempt humor in the movies usually fail dreadfully. Adam Sandler is the only one who made decent, funny movies. Are the names Chevy Chase, Dan Akroyd, Eddie Murphy, Joe Piscapo usually associated with good films? I think not!!!

Mad TV only follows a single sketch thingy: Guy who acts weird.

Huh? I think you have it backwards. Chevy Chase, Dan Akroyd, Eddie Murphy, Joe Piscapo have many very funny movies to their names, not to mention Steve Martin, Billy Crystal, Bill Murray, Mike Myers, and John Belushi. Adam Sandler is the one out of those you name who has failed dreadfully,

I'm gonna have to say Mad TV because now it's genuinely funny. SNL is now aimed at younger audiences, there fore about at entertaining as eating a live squirrel.

And good SNL will kick MadTV any day of the week, and twice on Saturday.
I'll note my Japanese girlfriend enjoys classic SNL but hates Mad TV.
Really good comedy crosses cultural divides, but the bad stuff does not.

All of those guys have funny movies? I think not, unless of course your idea of humor is something else. Mike Myers is an annoying moron who runs an idea into the ground, Austin Powers for one and before that Waynes World. BTW what funny things has Murphy done before or since picking up that TV hooker?

SNL at it's worst (which would be the past 2 years) is better than Mad TV at it's best.

SNL has launched many careers
Dan Ayckroyd
Bill Murray
Chevy Chase
Jon Belushi (if he hadn't ODed imagine the Animal House sequal he was going to make)
Eddie Murphy
Martin Short
Billy Crystal
Dana Carvey
Mike Myers
Chris Farley
David Spade
Adam Sandler
Chris Rock
Phil Hartman (Hi! I'm Troy McClure, too bad his wife was a psycho)
This is just to name a few.

Women I notice don't seem to progress after leaving SNL. I didn't put more recent people like Will Farrel as he is funny, but I'm waiting to see what his career does still.

SNL is better than MAD TV, no doubt in my mind. Even if most recent SNL's suck, MAD TV isn't much better and can't deliver consistently. The solution to SNL's woes would be to make Christopher Walken the host for every other show. :)

What really makes me mad is that on Comedy Central they used to play old episodes of SNL all the time, but now they play only Mad TV all afternoon. You can only see SNL on E!, and it is timed horribly because one episode is played in the middle of the afternoon while I'm still at school, and another is played really late at about midnight, when I'm asleep.

Mad TV is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than SNL. I can't stand SNL :mp5: . I've watched it all the way through numerous times without even cracking a smile. Mad TV makes me laugh all the time.

SNL! I love that show. The whole "Celebrity Jeporady" part was great, along with that Samurai Deli and all that good stuff. I've only seen two Mad TV bits that made me laugh like SNL.....

I think the entire point of Mad TV is to create the most annoying characters possible to make drunk high-school boys laugh.
