I think the US has more than enough reason to not support Israel as it is, this just adds to it...

The US has plenty of reasons to support Israel. The fact that Israel is spying is nothing new, but it's really a waste of Israeli money. They know quite a bit from the US already.
And btw, allies spy on eachother quite often. I wouldn't be surprised if their are spies in staunch alliies like Japan, or the UK. They probably have spies in this country. As Ronald Reagan said, "Trust, and verify."

What good reasons do you believe the U.S has for supporting Israel?
Plenty. For one, Israel is the best foothold in the Middle East that the US, and the West in general, has. For another, Israeli intelligence is second to none, among the best in the world. They don't mind sharing with us. And finally, the Israeli economy has boomed in the past twenty years. It has been a boon for investors in the US which, in the preceding decades, have given Israel lots of loans. The reasons to support Israel, economically and militarily, far outweigh the reasons to sever relations with them.

Countries spy on each other all the time, even if they're allies/friends. As PE said it probably wouldn't be a suprise if we had spies in the UK or Japan, or if they had spies in the US.
