how about the power to control what people say?

I'd have to say super hearing. I like to be able to eavesdrop on people.

That is a good power and one I don't think anyone would mind that ability though it could be abused, easily.

Hoy, couldn't I just get infected with a variation of the Obliterator Virus one that lets me stay sane and able to speak? That would be an amazing power.

I would want mind reading or time control.

A huge part of life, esp. the least fun parts, is people testing your mind. Odds are someone in the room knows the answer

I'm going to choose the most realistic superpower: Quicksilvers superspeed. Not only am I quicker and, invariably, stronger, but due to relativity I can live a looooooooooong time.

how about, control of time..OR! The power to make any statement that I say true, as long as its preceeded by this : the following statement is true.

At the Moment I would like the power to slow down/stop time, in case I get into fights, or the power to be invisible. You have NO Idea how many people I would love to freak out with that. ^_~ Superhuman Endurance (both mental and physical) would be cool too.

and as for the Lasik...I'm probably gonna get it done...but I'm kinda scared
not that I'll go more blind, just that I'll still have to wear glasses after having the procedure done...and that would make me angry
oh, and that whole "losing your night vision" thing
I need my night vision for driving

Eventually the Lasik wears off after several years. But it's nothing to be afraid of, my aunt got it done and now she sees 20/15

I have excellent day vision but terrible night vision. Given the choice, I'd go for day vision...

Well, first off, it's a do-all power.
Wanna fly, just levitate yourself.
Wanna be superstrong, just use your awesome psychic abilities to augment your strength, and so on.

I could temporarily disable any attacker or wrong doer, interupt any nefarious act, stupid stunt or political speech, cure general crankiness and make myself immensely popular.

tough one.
Either:
The ability to fly, especially to other worlds.
or:
To always improve. That way I can miss going to the gym occasionally and stop worrying about getting old.

I'd have the ability to transform my body into a small swarm of hungry rabid squirrels. Maybe thirty or so.

Astral Projection. Leave the body and harm the spirits and energy flows of others, terrorize and disease them, explore any area and manipulate what you wish, all without taking responsibility yourself. Is there any existing hero out there with that power?

On more conventional abilities, teleportation would be nice, especially combined with hand-to-hand adept... that and the ability to afterimage and perhaps pass through things...

I'd probably want to have Coordinator-level strength and intelligence (from Gundam SEED) - but not the arrogant mindset that their politicians (who think they are the superiror "race") have.
