The book is more than one story. The robot psychologist is 80 or so and telling her memory. For example:
Robots mine the new energy resource which is found on asterods (sp?), then somehow 'worship' the heart of the factory. Humans are no longer needed to opperate the robots.
Robots make a new world.
Read the book to find out the rest :p
The film is more 'modern' film. No space, no robots steering the 'right way' for humans. Just Sony and the rest of the robots trying to defeat the humans. Or was it that Sony trying to help humans?
Im older than the film, but younger than the book. (You asked how Im different :))
