I was at the Minnesota State fair and while I was walking down one of the little street areas, some cops told us to step back on the curb. Apperantly, it was rumored that he was going to be making an apperance and he actually did. I didn't believe it at first, until I saw the secret service men walking in front of the car he was riding in. Then I looked through one of the windows and actually saw his face; he was waving to people.

No, the Secret Service provides protection for the other party's candidate as well. I wonder if Nader gets Secret Service protection?

Major presidential candidates get Secret Service protection too. Their website (http://www.ustreas.gov/usss/opportunities.shtml) says that they protect "major Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates and their spouses." I'm not sure how they decide who is major.

Nader isn't a government funded party, so he doesn't get secret service escort. At this point, only the dem's and rep's have em. But If Nader wins some percentage (I think 6 or 7) of the popular vote overall, he gets government funding in 2008 and secret service guys.

Im not sure if thats true.
Perot won 19% of the popular vote when he ran and I dont think he was given secret service guards.
I could be wrong.

Eh, I'm not impressed by presidents or runners. They all make me sad that we have come to such a pittiful place in politics that we can vote for Clone Canidate A and clone Canidate B.

Yay for complaining!

Perot didn't need Secret Service. He has +3 Bulletproof Ears of Protection. He also has the psionic ability to disable his potential assassin with his mighty Charts of Distraction.
